Looks like their MB module is getting close, March release according to customer service.

It will cover all engines through 2008.

Finally, an MB specific tool

Does this essentially replace the need to buy a laptop with the STAR software on it? If so, very nice!!

In that link, I read that it'll be able to "Reset Adaptations"....... would that be the dreadful tranny adaptations?

Can't you do that already via the sneaky ecu reset by pressing gas pedal for 5sec etc etc etc

It doesn't seem to be as effective on the 63 as on the 55.

+1 it just does not work for the 63. I used to reset the ECUs on my 55 and 32 all the time, and I know how the car feels right after the reset. On the 63, this does not happen anymore

If that tool is really able to reset the tranny adaptations, it'll be worth it just for that feature

Snap-On Verus
http://www1.snapon.com/verus

I have a handheld that pulls a minor amount of manufacturer specific codes (33 different manufacturers). Infact I pulled some codes out of a 1997 S-class a few days ago. I've used the Snap-On Solus Pro and Modus scanners also, they are a wonder, and have full manufacturer code support built in. This Snap-On Verus is just THAT much better because it has a 4channel scope...oh heck the link describes it all...lol

But for the users here, it really is MUCH more than they need, as a mercedes specific tool is much more than adequate and MUCH cheaper to own as a personal tool too.

$9,000 Can't you pick up a STAR diagnostic tool for $4,000

Yes, but it only covers Mercedes. This Snap-On covers ALL Manufacturers, and includes CAN OBDII, OBDI, ABS, TCS, TPMS, and other assorted functions.
