This probably isn't a good project for someone with huge gorilla hands like me. I may have to pay a indy shop to do it for me from the sounds of things.

did you ever figure it out? I'm stuck on the same step as you...i removed the side piece..don't see any torx screws that relate to the wood trim. The trim slides to the right about 1" but then is stuck.

I think there are different versions of the dash wood trim. I see on some of the older w211's there is a screw..but mine doesn't have it. (2005)

I had to remove my comand to get leverage and push the trim all the way to the right. Once its all the way to the right it should come off easily, you shouldn't have to pry it to pop off.

i saw some pictures of the back of the trim and it looks like there's two posts that stick into two holes in the dash which would mean that the trim needs to be pryed off?

Not sure about later models but on my '03 it slides to the right and then you can pull it off. There's no screws holding it down.

Wood panels (doors , dash)

Here’s what I did for doors and dash! Removed outer plastic wood pieces that always and will continue falling off. I then wrapped to the pieces that already hv the exact contour of what you took off! Works like a champ! This way you never gv to take any pieces off including door panels! Just need a heat gun to worm it up and I’m sure you can find a place where it’s falling off heat and remove. I’d send a pic if I could find how to add a pic on here!
