ones too fast according to CHP!
can this thread stay on track please - take your personal issues to PM's or forget them please. The site as a whole (all 100,000+ of us) could care less about the issues that 2 users have with each other.

thanks
Brad

unfortunately the 80mm tb conversion part numbers have been kept in the dark by people in interest. and you gotta give credit where its due. when i was doing my setup i got help from 3 guys on part numbers - jangy being one of them. there are a couple different 80mm tb part numbers floating around but the ones i posted worked for me and some others here.

the part number i posted comes on certain SL55 cars....but not all of them. it's hard to know which one without the actual number, and if you buy the wrong one you can't return it - since it's a special order item.

Thank you. Seriously, these guys need to start their OWN thread in Off-Topic and respond to each other's posts there and leave the original thread clean.

FWIW, I'd previously been directed by another MBW forum member towards parts.com for OEM hardware, and have continually been pleasantly surprised by the price levels that a lot of MB stuff can be (presumably) obtained for. YMMV, of course.

Good info!
Can someone elaborate on exactly what changes are needed to the wiring harness. Any links to previous threads on this topic?

Any idea how much HP you can gain from the throttle body mod (with no tune)?

fyi its from the SL55 07 models that came with 525-530 hp
It was due to the 80mm tb, was also available on the first gen SL

What you want is the newer one. You will need to rewire it also to make it work.

All this info came from a German guy that claimed he was an AMG trainer & was sadly chased away from this board; see belt rap kit threads for the newbie’s

and Jangy, I was the first not u to have it, as you were still looking at part numbers while I had it on (but seriously guys stop the arguing and take it else where, pilot I do not know who you are, but the constant bickering is sad, I for one could not care less if the info you give is true, if all I have to do every time is read 10 posts of crap to get to it) you resemble an other member a lot in your approach….. and Jangy going back and forth with you is no better either (take it to off topic)

You asked for info and you are getting it, be thankful for that and try and understand this is your thread asking about the TB and you basically derailed it...

and yes sc need to come out so it is a pricy install
No tune needed

Jangy or anyone.....

The new 82mm TB offered by Renntech and VRP....I presume they are stock MB parts......Does anyone know the part number for that one??

The electronics are not epoxied on that one....making it much easier to modifiy.
