I was told that the 245/35/20 on the front will rub if lowered. So Im running the 245/30/20

30/25 combo to keep the OEM diameter. The other size is 1" too tall, although some here do run the taller size.

In general, I like the 235/275 or 245/285 combos. I am currently using the 245/30 285/25 combo with my 20s.

this is true...

the 245-35-20 and 275-30-20 are the best ride/ handling for a 20" wheel imo...but 245-30-20 and 285-25-20 look the best....if you run a 245-30-20 your car will not rub lowered but it willl for sure rub with a 245-35-20 I know this because I screwd up my fender in the begining stages of modding my car.

hope this helps...and good luck

It depends on your offset. I run 245/35/20 and 275/30/20 with no rubbing. My car is slammed with half the tire tucking with no problems what so ever. I have just ordered new rear tires and I'm going with 285/30/20 instead so the tires will match better. Right now the rear tires sidewall is shorter but with the 285 in a 30 series it will be only .25mm difference between the two.

Here are the sizes broken down.
245/30 = 73.50mm tall sidewall
245/35 = 85.75mm tall sidewall
275/25 = 68.75mm tall sidewall
275/30 = 82.50mm tall sidewall
285/25 = 71.25mm tall sidewall
285/30 = 85.50mm tall sidewall

You have to ask yourself what you want. The higher sidewall will give you a more comfortable ride. Technically the car will be higher off the ground but the tire will tuck more into the fender and quarter. But with the lower it will sit lower to the ground. Also a big thing to think about is how are the roads you travel? If they are bad you're going to want a higher sidewall so you don't bend a rim.

Hope this helps.

your best bet

You can run 275/30/20 in the reat with no problem,

I say the best ride is 245/30/20 and 275/30/20, the specs will be off but there is a big difference in ride quality when you go up a size

I run BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2

Front: 245/35/20
Rear: 285/30/20

And have not one problem. There is very little gap and no rubbing. My car is not lowered and my rims are:

Front: 20x9 - 38 Offset with a 7mm spacer
Rear: 20X10 - 38 Offset with no spacer

[quote=MPRESIV;3377225]What are the pros & cons with either of these?

[with diameters]

Front 245/30/20 - 25.8"
Rear 275/25/20 - 25.4"

OR

Front 245/35/20 - 26.8"
Rear 275/30/20 - 26.5"

IF you use 20" rims you must do
Front 245/30/20 - 25.8"
Rear 275/25/20 - 25.4"

every inch you go above 18 you drop 5% aspect,, to keep the rotational mass within spec, and not to throw off your speedometer
and not to rub..

if you go with the 35/30's it will trow off the speedo, and also increase the rotational mass more, making braking suffer slightly
not to mention your dealer will start blaming any suspension issues you have on the wrong size tires and wheels,. so

do the
Front 245/30/20 - 25.8"
Rear 275/25/20 - 25.4"
good luck

yeah but it will also throw off the speedo, which throws off all the speed sensors and ecu slightly, and abs, and increases the rolling diameter
and rotational mass too much which the computers dont take into acccount, and it also stresses the brakes more and reduces stopping distances..

the proper way, and any tire tech, or merc tech will tell you its a + 2 size upgrade and too keep the computers and brakes and speedo in line
you must use
Front 245/30/20 - 25.8"
Rear 275/25/20 - 25.4"

sure the other works, but your car will be slightly off,, why would you want that,.

and I was just at mercedes today talking to their master head mechanic
about this, cause he was laughing at all the idiots that put 20-22 inch tires on the cars, with the wrong aspect ration and when they have problems etc with them..

just a FYI
