E55 then E63, now back to an E55
Filling w Gas.....
Every time I go to fill E63, no matter the varying degree of handle/insertion/etc---
Every 5-30 seconds it will intermintently stop pumping (as if full)...... and I have to stand by the pump can't sit in car...
What is the reasoning?

^^^
I probably shouldn't do that but I do, including talking on the phone....
But that's beside the point-
Akademics-
The weird thing is, I have literally filled probably a hundred different types of vehicles, and the only one w this problem is my new E63 (didn't happen on E55)
Also, it can't be the actual pump because I have gone to 10+ entirely different stations over the last few weeks, and never fail it occurs.....

I guess just keep trying different pumps. If one f-s me over, I find another one. And once I find one that works, I stay with it.
I've put some thought into it, and here's my synopsis: maybe the fuel isn't being dumped in quick enough and "builds up", the pump then senses your tank is full and shuts off. Wait a sec, try it again, and the process repeats. If that were to be the case however, it would be a defect in the vehicle and every E-Class on earth would be in the same hole. It's just my idea. This happened to me on the C-Class and Ford Fusion rentals I had.

Honda
it is caused by all the back pressure gases that are build up in your tank, after all your fuel system acts as a vacum thats why you have to always make sure you can hear the clicking noise when putting the cap back on

I never had this problem in the E55, but was taught this fix when I worked at a service station during my high school years:
- Stick a pen (or screw driver, something thin) between the nozzle and the receptacle on your car. The idea is to keep the rubber part of the nozzle open so that air can escape. This would be similar to you using your hands to "pull back" on the rubber surrounding the nozzle when it is pumping.
Sorry prety hard to describe without pictures. This would be a sure fix. I can't say whether this is a problem with the car or the pump. You might want to try a different pump/station to see if the problem resolves.
