I cant stop smiling right now!!

Let me start by saying---I have owned many fast cars....and I have raced against many fast cars before......but tonight.....

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


SO Im coming home from a 12 hour day.....Im on the 400 southbound as it joins to the 401 east....I look in front of me and I see what looks like a crushed transport truck.....like really wide but very low---it looked unnormally low...I say to myself; "what the hell is that?"

Finally I am right beside it and realize that I am beside this................




What a SICK ASSSSSSSSSSS RIDE!!

Anyhow--I pulled up just enough for him to see the E55 AMG on the back and then I slow down. He sees me and starts to slow right down too. At this point Im going nuts in the car because there are always 1-2 cars on that onramp...would I miss the chance of a lifetime??..just in case--I put the car in Manual and downshift to 2nd.......we are rolling at ~30mph....

As soon as we come around the corner I look down and see.....NOTHING!!!!!!! NOT ONE FRICKEN CAR!! less than a second later I hear----- Vraaaaaammmmmmmmmm----The LAMBO Downshifted---HE WANTED TO GO!!

I floor it and so does he........I jumped about 1 car on him instantly........By the bottom of the hill we were doing 110mph. This is where he passed me doing about 6-8mph more than me. Yes I lost pretty badly...but in the car I was screaming;

"That was sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I dont care what anybody says---ABSOLUTELY NOTHING sounds like a Lambo at full song. It was the most beautiful sound Ive ever heard. I can honestly say--Id rather lose by 20 buslengths but still drive that car.



Now If that wasn't enough......I get up behind the guy up ahead and he pulls into the middle lane.....I roll down my window to give him a thumbs up and low and behold---he has his window down giving me one!!! Its -13 outside here guys.


What a great experiance!! A Sick car owned by a guy who knows how to drive it and is humble enough to acknowledge a fellow enthusiast.

The 10 cyl and 12 cyl have different sounds. The one pictured above is a Murci LP640(12cyl) The one in the link is the 10 cyl Gallardo.

Awesome, story! That must've been great! I've not had any run-ins with a car of that caliber in my beast, although I almost got a chance to run with an F430 last fall. The guy was chillin' though, and didn't want to run. Sigh.....

The new Maser's have such a sweet sound, and the driving experience is everything that you'll never get with a german car. The closest you will come is with porsche, and they're still only half as fun as an italian car.

Only problem is the effin' maintenance. On the italian stuff, the costs are just insane. They also break constantly. And even if it's not something big, it's still like $10k for a clutch replacement, etc. Such a deal with the devil...

I called BS on it MYSELF.....I didnt even think of that......who drives his brand new lambo in the winter?? Yet another reason what happened is so incredible. We did have spring like weather here for a week. It just got really cold for a few days.

It was DEFINATELY an LP640.....I wasnt going fast (30-40mph) when I rolled up right beside him. Im no Lambo expert, but it looked BRAND NEW. Either this guy just took it off the lot and was driving it home---or he just had it detailed. The hyway lights were just sparkling on it.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Lambo owner gave the keys to his "trusted young detailer" ......and thats the guy that I ran into. I seen lots of expensive exotics on the road---usually the owners never want to abuse their machines. maybe this guy...

Benzboy----Im stock 100%......Ive run 12.1 116mph in the 1/4mile and about 90-91mph in the 1/8th . As soon as I saw it--I KNEW i would lose. Ive race a lot in my day and it felt like he passed me at about 6-8mph when I got to ~110mph. I just checked dragtimes and those LP's trap 125-126mph and 97-98mph in the 1/8th. Just what it felt like. He blew by me like I blow by E46 M3's.



To the Maserati MC Victory guys...I've always liked how it sounds, but that Lambo was a different ballgame.


Either way...I was very happy I got passed and heard that thing at full song.

Ive been driving for 20 years...and Ive never had the situation so perfect....Brand new Lambo....Willing cool driver....even start ......no cars ahead for 1/8th mile...no where for cops to hide....me in my fast car.....

I just dont think that will ever happen again.

I guess the lambo owner just had an itch to drive the lp640.... it's winter time, but as long as no snow pouring ...should be fine ... at least that's what I do with my 55

I saw an r8 yesterday and a scud a couple weeks ago on the road ..... springs is coming

Nice, I havent seen that one yet but there are a lot of lambos around here so maybe someday. And I'm not surprised it was out there, you have to take advantage of any good weather gap in the winter, for the cold air power boost!
