Hi.. Newbie here, first mod problem for E55.

Hi everyone, I have got myself a nice 04 with very few miles on it. And I have ordered a Eisenmann Race Exhaust for it as a first mod to open up the sound abit. And after a few days, I found it abit too much for my little family sedan. Well, I dun think I want to spend another 2K on a Eisennman Sport exhaust now, I want to ask if I throw back my stock muffler on it and take out the resonator, what kind of sound level can I expect? I want to open it up abit, louder but not Race loud. Thanks everyone.

If you are considering selling this exhaust system, where are you located. I'll take this off your hands and than you can replace this with the other exhaust

Stock muffler and resonator delete will sound like stock at idle. At high rpms it will add a bit of a growl and will not be loud at all.

Real Cars
Vspec,

I have Kleemann mufflers on my car, and I think we both have the same desire for sound from our cars. I have found the Kleemann units to be perfect. Not ridiculously louder than stock, but definitely noticeable.

The only drawback is that the Kleemann units are made for a Kleemann rear bumper, and you will have to modify them to fit a stock AMG bumper. It is worth it, in my opinion.

Good luck,

Marcus

I had been thinking hard before I bought this exhaust. (But Obviously now, not hard enough.) I wanted the Renntech, but seems hard to get it from where I am. I am in Hong Kong by the way. So this is kindly like my only option. And I have been playing vids on you tube again and again and again, the exhaust sounds no where near in real life. Probadly I should have ordered the race at the beginner.

The reason I am asking about the resonator is I dun want to weld the stock one back on, get the sport and then cut the piping again when the sport arrive. I dun really want to mess with the exhaust piping anymore. So either I will take it off run stock without resonator or leave the eisenmann there.

For those who showed interest, I am on the other side of the world so shipping will be a factor. But I will sell it at a reasonable price with shipping IF I decided to sell it. It is really like days old. I can show you installation reciept and reciept from CA Automotive from England where the shop got my exhaust from with their cost price blacked out.

Thanks for your reply Marcus,

I have heard great things about kleemann also, even my friend who used to live in German higly recommend them too, but the only thing I dun like about Kleemann is like you said, the mod to the back bumper and even more the tip.

So I dunno what I would do now, but definetly want to try Kleeman for a ECU upgrade.

Thanks.
