Impossible is a strong word. Ive hit 187 on the 605 which is even worse than the 405. It IS possible to go that fast, although not very smart. Plus with the power hes puttin down, it doesnt take very long to get to 180

Well, I don't believe the story for a lot of reasons, but as the owner of an LS2 Vette (07) and an LS3 Vette (08 - 436HP), I can attest that my E55 will walk them both.
It will also walk my 996TT off the line.

I had a run in with a C6 Vert 6spd the other night late comming home he just had to do the slow down and stomp it next to me but that got my attention. So i pulled up to him at about 85mph in 3rd gear ready to roll and he honked away and off we went to about 155 and i would say i had atleast 6 cars at the very least but im not stock either.

If you want to test this just let me know. I've beaten an E63 in my E55 (stock) and I'd love to do so in my M6 (stock). 
Come to ChicagoX's next drag day at US 41. We can do both 1/4 mile runs and 50mph roll-ons.

weird.....im pretty sure I hit 180 but maybe im so dumb I thought it was 140....woops
the 405 is ****, but doesnt mean you cant hit 180. obviously if my car was stock it would be limited to 155 but good idea

Yeah there is no doubt from a roll a E55 or E63 will fall to your stock M6 but from a stop at a drag strip that will be driver in just the 1/4 mile and the M6 just gets started at the 1/4. The M6 is harder to launch i feel personally from driving both cars i have yet to try a E63 but would imagine it not harder then a E55 to launch.

I agree - no way you hit 180 on the 405. Only place that would be possible is around Camp Pend and just south of the nuclear plant and even then that's the 5 freeway with lots of cops. Hell....I hit overpasses on the 405 at 100mph and the car literally jumps side to side a couple feet...

It's hard to launch a E63 with no wheel spin. As I'm guessing the same is true with the E55, M5 and M6. I simply can't get my E63 to launch with no wheel spin. If you leave the traction control on it kicks in. If you turn it off the wheels spin. I need bigger tires lol.

I have an 05 E55 and an 08 Corvette with Z51 option and 6 speed. I have to say that the corvette is one fast car. It pulls hard thru all the gears. Looking forward to getting both cars out to the strip and see how they do against each other. I think the corvette will win if I can nail the shifts. I have yet to really step on the E55 and I purchased is just before winter. Once it warms up and I can swap out the snow tires and wheels I will see how it performs compared to the Vette. It is great to be able to switch between 2 hot rods. 1 in disguise and 1 American icon.

i have an 05 e55 and a 08 z06. both are heavily modded. my Z has 640 rwhp and 600 lbs of torque. my e55 has 504 rwhp and 540 lbs of torque. i can whoop my e55 when my girl is driving it and im in the Z06. to be honest i prefer the ride and power combo on the e way more than the Z06 which tends to break traction and with the boost/meth combo can be load at WOT.

Vette's are awesome. I love mine. I still like it a bit more then my Merc. Any C6 is awesome. You can pick up a used one for under $30K. They easy to mod to 600HP and are incredible cheap compared to other cars. The lightness of it and they way they handle is awesome. It is by far the most bang for the buck sports car on the planet. They are just a lot of fun.

Your Z06 would whoop pretty much anything on the road including the new ZR1. lol

I was on the 405 coming home from school two nights ago and a new blue Corvette (Z51 I think) gets behind me and follows me for like 2 miles than finally gets next to me downshifts, gets the jump.....but i walked him like 6 car lengths we did an 80 to about 180 run.
