05' E55 AMG

E55 vs New Corvette

I was on the 405 coming home from school two nights ago and a new blue Corvette (Z51 I think) gets behind me and follows me for like 2 miles than finally gets next to me downshifts, gets the jump.....but i walked him like 6 car lengths we did an 80 to about 180 run.

i dont know if he was trying to toy with me......but, woops sorry guy!!

With all due respect.. When you are putting car lengths on someone and you see him in the rear view it's hard to determine how far your ahead. You can come back and say you spanked him by 2 bus lengths but the owner of the losing car will say something like No way! That is BS! You only had me by 4 cars!!

My point exactly, I've been all over the 405 @ every possible time or day, that is w/out a doubt the shi_tiest stretch of road to attempt 180mph, talk about death wish/reckless abandon, if it was even possible

That'd be the LS2 400/400 6.0 the newest C6 Corvette has LS3 436/428 6.2 w/upgraded exhaust factory option...prolly the latter older LS2 C6 to put 6 lengths on it..(Even tho I don't think they ran to 180mph lol)

Guy obviously has no idea what 180mph is like. No way you do that on an urban (or suburban) freeway system.

+1 on this statement, the 405 is a POS and the undulations coupled with the Pigmatic E55 suspension is downright scary. I drive the OC toll roads which are flat and going 180 is no cup of tea.

Im not calling BS because I wasnt there and maybe the vette guy let off but the 180 part if it went down is craaaaaaazy.

The more I think about it the more I say.... Hell No! 180 is "Moving" and to be honest you need some good stretch of road to achieve that!

I did 186 in my old viper coming back from vegas and although that car was sick fast up to 160, 186 took a little while longer to achieve. I do not have an e55 yet, so maybe it's faster the a SC viper?? No f-ing way 180 on the freeway though.

I used to drive up and down the 405 3-4 times a week (San Diego to LA and back). I dont know where and what time u can go 180mph unless u have like a drag car and do it really quickly. Its possible but not plausible. Lots of bumps, turns, cars, popos.
