Yaaaaawn... Ok, I'm up. Is it feeding, I mean ownage time again??

I have gotten numerous offers to sell my exhaust. The only problem is I want to keep my tips so I can try out a different set of mufflers. That is the whole reason I didn't just slap on a pair of magnaflow's or borla's to begin with. My friend had the eisennman exhaust and it DRONED... I like to keep the look of large oval tips So, I modified my stock just to keep the AMG look.

Sorry Mike. You have been patiently waiting for the drive by videos. Haven't had much time for car stuff lately because of "distractions" I'm going to look for a new camera soon. Hit me up next time you are in LA or OC.

Not to sound like I'm on Storm's side because we all know he sounds like a douche....but isn't gutting the muffler more of a pain in the *** than just buying a new muffler? Is it really better than an aftermarket muffler?
Seems like a lot of trouble to go through.

It is a much cheaper alternative to produce more sound from the car and no one said that it was "better"

Im going to do this - how much would a reasonable price be for a shop to do it - just want to make sure they dont sting me.

What ECBAOBAO said... Keeping the tips is what it all boiled down to. Of course it's easier to install 2 aftermarket mufflers that will give you better sound then gutted stock. But, trying to find tips that can hold a candle to the look of quad AMG's was a task I couldn't accomplish.

What do you all think about deleting the muffler all together, welding in a straight pipe inta Y pipe and the welding the tips back on???

Would this be about the same with out all the trouble of gutting the muffler.

And did you run into issues with re-welding the muffler back together being that it is aluminum?

Not sure about that one. I think I will stick to what I have for now. No problem welding it back. It couldn't be made of aluminum because he used a mig welder.

Really? What are they made of? I tried to stick a magnet to one of the to see if the were aluminum or not and it didn't stick... hmmmm...

I really don't know what I want to do... but I don't want to drop 3k on a set if you know what I mean.
