Our CLS is tinted 35%, but the chrome strip around the windows breaks up all the black. Since the E doesn't have that, it would look like one flat, black panel.
Can you guys post pics and give your recommendation? I'll sleep so much better at night. Thanks!

HI
well it all boils down to 2 things,, your TASTE< and how the cops are in your city lol
I chose 50% front and 4 side windows
and 35% rear window
and 18% for the SUNROOF / PANOROOF,
this has 2 effects,,
1 it allows enough light for you to see at night out the front and front sides,
and if you get pulled over the cop will not likely notice it or ticket you.
2 because the REAR window is 35% and the PANOROOF glass are 18% it darkens the look of the front 50% glass slightly too, as it lets less ambient light in from the rear and top..
so really makes the 50% more like 42 % perfect medium between 50 and 35
so its a good compromise,, as if a officer looks at the front or drivers window it will by itself not look dark,, but because there is less ambient light comming in from the back and top, for you it effectively allows less total light it, which is perfect..
a neat trick if you get pulled over for anything to make sure you dont get cited,, is roll down your driver and passenger front windows,, which hides them,
and makes the front 50% window looks alot lighter, more like 75% which is legal, by allowing more light in , so they dont notice
if you have a black car,, and do anything darker then 35%, it will
1- really increase the likehood you will get pulled over or cited for it,,
especially if you a woman,, we all know how the officers like the ladies , lol
2 it kinda starts to look GHETTO on a european car,, IMO,, and cheapens the look,
now that is not meant to offend anyone who has less than 35% tint,, its just my opinion.. to each his own..
well hope that helps your decision Lady AMG![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
THIS STORM GUY IS, WELL, AN EXPERT ON EVERYTHING!!!
Note how he says that anyone with tint darker than 35% has a ghetto-fabulous ride. And that your car also looks cheap if the window tint is darker than 35%. He's got those percentages calculted based on the number of windows you have tinted as well as the darkness of the tint on each window and whether you have the windows up or down and if you have pano. He came up with a 42% window tint based on all of those factors. GENIUS OF HIM!!!

actually
I said if anyone has less than 35% that its too dark in MY OPINION
NOTICE HOW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE QUOTE<, the part you missed it says..
"now that is not meant to offend anyone who has less than 35% tint,, its just my opinion.. to each his own.."
and that MEANS EXACTLY THAT.... not to take offense to that and to EACH HIS OWN
I never said I was a tinting expert,, I merely was trying to help with the lady's question that all,,
please dont take offense if you have less than 35% , I just think its really dark on black cars and risks getting pulled over,, that does not mean your ride does not look good,, man

You really need to READ what I originally posted. I was commenting on the bolded statement you previously made (as I have repeated above). You say that you have personally witnessed 0-60 times on the street and track go down by 2/10 of a second. This would imply that you or someone else were measuring 0-60 times and you were physically there to witness it. My original response was questioning the equipment (i.e. your sphincter) you used to measure these times. I really don't mind that you decided to rant and rave and make yourself look like a fool...you have a certain knack for that...hey... every village has its own idiot... thanks for being ours!! ![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

you obviously misunderstood my post,, which seeing how intolerant,
and combative you are is not hard..
I was saying 2 different things..
that I have witnessed it personally, and driven many Ferraris,,
and also read and watched sources that say the same thing..
thats all.. you are making a mountain out of a mole hill
and trying to play a semantics and combative game and Im not interested..
waste of time

[quote=Akademiks;3439422]STORM,,, WTF WHY DO YOU ALWAYS PUT NUMEROUS "," IN A ROW AFTER EVERY SENTENCE,,, DAMMIT!!!!!,,, CAN YOU
ACTUALLY, I know english pretty well, and have a couple of degrees, do you?
the reason for the extra comma's is a simple one,
one that you should have thought of.. my exclaimation key sticks sometimes, that's the simple reason, not a conspiracy.

Storm... how did you ever get to drive Ferraris and all that when you can't even string your thoughts together to form a coherent sentence? ![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
EDIT: You have a degree? LMFAO
You took the short bus to school, didn't you?

For fun, I like to drink a beer and read stormy's idiotic ramblings. But, I have to admit it's a painful read. It makes my head hurt... Not anyone can convincingly sound that dumb. It's gotta take some skill.
