I know 3 people that got them, and then got rid of them, 1 on this very forum because they were too loud..
the reaons they are loud is they are very small which smaller mufflers are louder, and they are fairly empty of sound deadening mats

if you dont mind loud, thats fine,, but I chose the REMUS, mufflers,,
they are louder than the stock AMG, mufflers about 20 %, but not quite as loud as the RENNTECH which are about 40% louder..

REMUS owns SEBRING which makes AMG mufflers, and brabus, and Kleeman, and Porsche as well so they are a good company.. and I love mine..

Eisenmann are good too and not as loud as the RENNTECH either..

start with a simple CAT BACK exhaust with good mufflers
use 304 stainless steel 3" piping all the way to the cats, and get an X-pipe and put it 1/2 way..between the 2

that will make the car sound really good...

once you do that, see how you like the sound,, if you like it, then you can go for HEADERS, like the KLEEMAN or VRP, and lastly replace the Cats with high flow 200 cel racing cats.

not only will that all sound better but with all that and an ECU tune, you should be able to get 75 hp or so which doesnt suk
grats on the car btw
This is the kind of info I'm looking for!

I've actually heard the opposite about the Eisenmann exhaust and have been told that it is louder than Renntech. I know Eisenmann can be pretty loud on M cars. I will definitely look up Remus, though.

I looked up some youtube vids to get an idea of how the different exhausts sound, but I need to hear it in person to really form an opinion.

Do you guys have any suggestions for suspension? I'm leaning towards the Renntech ELM.

renntech

You heard right, renntech mufflers are pretty civilized. Just depends on the other mods on the car. If you are changing out your mufflers, i would think that you would want a louder exhaust tone.

most parts are interchangable except for power mods from the e55 to e63. To be honest, there isnt much for the 6.3 right now.

I would recomend a renntech elm, some wheels and a nice exhaust settup. The rest of the power mods just cost way to much and will probably drop in the future when more tuners start making parts for the car

LOL - casue it's a ricer hooptie, that's why.

Lady AMG - perhaps you can tell us exactly what type of mods you want and we give you some better suggestions. Are you looking for cosmetic only upgrades or are you looking for more performance oriented mods ?

For now, I'm starting with suspension, exhaust/mufflers and some minor cosmetic changes such as bumper lights and tint. The car came with a set of aftermarket mesh wheels instead of the stock AMG wheels. They are brand spanking new with more than 90% tread, so I am going to keep them for now. For future, I'm looking at replacing them with Renntech or Carlsson wheels. Overall, I want to keep a clean but aggressive appearance.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I don't want to modify any of the stock components because I like to keep them on hand just in case.

LADY_AMG,
Congrats on the black beauty. I am also a previous M3 owner. I'm sure we know some of the same people living in Cali. You should join us at the drag event I am putting together. Welcome!

Yep...black looks absolutely beautiful when it is clean. I've got silver and I'm lucky since the water here in the Phoenix area is so damn dirty and spots like you wouldn't believe!

Haha...well, I still plan to do my homework before pulling the trigger on any mods.

Hi BENZGal,

It's always nice to see a fellow female enthusiast. I would love to join you guys, unfortunately I'm a weenie and am scared to break something on the car for fear that insurance won't pay for it. I can still come and watch, though!

if you break anything, there will be plenty of guys around to push your car just outside the gates so insurance will cover it. i'll have to share my warranty story with you some time.

Oh I can just imagine making that phone call...

Me: "Hi, I'd like to make a claim."
Insurance: "Ok ma'am, describe to use what happened."
Me: "Well, I was on my way to the grocery store..........."

Exhaust

E63 Exhaust: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...n-exhaust.html

Anyhow: $$Long tube headers$$, remove secondary cats, remove resonator and replace w/ x-pipe, if you aren't happy, gut mufflers.
