Out Of Control!!
There was a modded GT500 at the track rental last time. I lost his business card but hopefully will find it again so he can give his perspective and I can give him the vids from the track. His car made 660+whp and he was on Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials. He was trapping much higher than I was but our ET's were pretty close. He was a really cool guy too. Those cars are probably monsters from a roll. All makes have their dbags but for the most part enthusiasts have respect for one another and other makes.

I still think it's funny what AMG created. NO WAY did they want to create the ultimate 4 door drag car, yet they did.
SVT guys just don't get what happens when you punch these things. 2 tons seems to focus on the rear wheels (with drag radials of course)..full engine torque applied at less than 2500rpms and she just gets up and hammers. It's a thing of beauty.
I always had images of them furious and swearing in German when they read how we are using these cars.

I do have a very soft spot in my heart for those cars (I have owned 5 Mustangs)...but like I said before... there are fanatics for each marque that will never believe something they don't want to believe.

Familiarity breeds contempt.... that is exactly why they don't believe the E55 can be as fast as it is... they see a similar mill in the Terminators and GT500's and can't believe a heavier car can put out similar/better performance..with similar rwhp.

That said, the 55k does have a good bit more displacement and from what I understand, a slightly more efficient blower, so the 03 guys should "get" that it makes more power in stock form.
And sadly, the e55 isn't THAT much heavier.
I think fanatics for all brands are ridiculous personally.
