Need Advice on 2004 e55
I'm looking into buying a 2004 e55. The car has 80,000 miles.
I drove the car and it's a beast. I have a couple of questions about it that I hope you guys can help me with. Everything in the car is solid but in comfort made there seems to be a very slight delay when it shifts at part throttle. It feels as it there is some kind of torque management going on. Is this normal? At WOT it's nice and crisp. Also the brake rotors have little rings (or depressions) that follow the circumference from the hub all the way to the edge of the rotor. The owner that me she had the brakes done in December and the rotors were fine. She is asking 20K and I don't want to spend that much and then have transmission problems soon or fail MD state inspection because of the rotors. Any advice would be appreciated.

That is pretty cheap..I've seen a few in the low 20's. Anyway, if you are pushing your budget to get one in the 20's you better keep saving. These cars are not cheap to maintain. A tranny will cost you about 4-5k..supercharger issues can run up to $1200. Remember these were 80-90K vehicles when new. look for a newer model w/ lower miles that can still be put under warranty..good luck. I'm waiting for 06's to drop a bit more.

I would spend the extra money on a newer model WITH warranty. If one major thing goes wrong, you'll be out money that you could've put into purchasing a newer model. Keep your eye open for an '05 or '06 CPO with the 100k warranty. Just my two cents.
