In the most recent JD power associates rating...tied with Buick. Sorry Lexus!

I have freind who bought one brand new XFR about 2 months ago...he is on his 3rd one now...yes 3rd in two months. First one lasted less than 100 miles before it lost oil pressure and died. The second lasted less than 50 miles before the car died on the highway with dash lights a flashin. Third time must be a charm. I Have not spoken to him in a few days and last I heard the car was still working.

By the way..he says he can take my 05 E55 easily with his XFR. I am ready to give him a shot at it!

Ha just sent this to my freind with the XFR..He is getting a check engine light on car number 3. Have not heard from him cause he is out of the country!

I am laughing seriously hard. I told him i guess I will have to drive from San Antonio to Houston to let him race me. His car will not make it here!

XFR is a non factor - per the article J.D. Power's dependability study surveyed 46,313 original owners of 2006 model-year vehicles in October 2008.

Either way, I am surprised, my late model XJR was somewhat problematic, although Jag's in-house extended warranty took care of every problem at no additional charge.

Friction: I have had my XF "Daily Driver" for 10 months now and -0- problems in 13K miles.

I do not believe this!

Well, I am not a witness..but he has no reason to lie to me about it. He likes the car when it runs...

my bad, he is on his second XFR..the #2 of the 3 was a XJR until he could get the new XFR.

Friction:

I know that whatever I am driving if I had these problems I would be pissed too. I hope Jaguar makes your friend whole and throws a little extra in too!

I know Jag has a reputation in the past as troublesome but your friends experience is "Off the Charts"!

I hope it all works out for him.

I just turned in my 2006 E55 after a little over 3 years and bought an 08 XJR...they are two completely different cars....I've had my share or problems with the E from the get go...steering rack, blown valve cover gaskets, airmatic, funny smells of all sorts with ac on...will see how the jag holds up, although the the new report is very encouraging...one thing's for sure, though...I've gottem a lot more compliments on the XJR ( mostly from the younger crowd too ) in 2 months than I did on my E55 in 3 years

UPDATE, the 3rd Jag, (2nd xfr) is running good with several hundred miles on it. The warning light he had on this went off and the dealer has no idea why it came on for a breif time.

I gotta say, I saw an XF in traffic for the first time not too long ago, and it is definitely a showstopper.
