2004 W211 E55K, GL550
Need some help want a w211

Ok i unfortunitly wrecked my w210 E55 and have to get a replacement want a w210 again but i say might as well get something newer i always loved the W211 but have a few questions as far as what to look for when buying one & as far as mods go i know its endless with these cars. But basically what i want to start with is lowering the vehicle air ride systems and all who do i go with for this and what else can be done to START with these cars thanks in advance guys &/or gals

You can lower via

1. Washer mod $ 1.00
2. SDS lowering price depends on labor rate
3. Adjustable air ride links $ 300
4. Lowering module from renntech carrlson etc > $1000

It's the one you DON'T want to do. You use washers to shim the position sensors for the ride height so the car thinks that it is riding higher than it really is and lowers itself. There have been a number of airmatic failures when the shimmed sensor arms have come off.
