I was driving on the 405 freeway this morning and saw this, So I had to take a picture for you guys....I dont really understand why it says SL550...I mean how stupid can you be?

Makes me wonder if the owner had body work done and the repair shop ordered the wrong emblems. I have seen several of the older Bimmers and MBs with the correct emblems but on the wrong side of the trunk.

it is S class long Ver

the older models had them where you had short and long S classes
bmw 7 also had it

thats my best guess....unless the owner is truly clueless

The long wheelbase is labeled with a V, short wheelbase is W.

Example:

S550V4M - LWB 4matic

S450W4M - we have a short wheelbase S450 in Canada

Hear is an interesting "observation"...You are truly wealthy if you can afford the lead brick depreciation curve of the S Class. And since the SL depreciates much less aggressively, the owner of that car could be perceived as downright cheap.

I saw a Clk55 in Tampa last week but he rebadged it CLK63 AMG. Anyone in the tampa clearwater area seen it? it had smoked tail lights
