Update (pics tomorrow)...
Forgot my Canon today, but I'll post pics tomorrow when I drop some stuff at the shop. A lot of the parts are coming back from paint:
1. Head lights
2. All silver trim (fins and door handles)
3. Badging
4. Calipers
5. New 3 slat grill
6. Flat hood emblem surround
I also broke down and purchased the carbon fiber trim kit to replace all the burl wood trim in the car now. Also, the custom mats came in and they look sweet!
I was going to get the engine cover painted but since I am going to go with the VR825 the engine covers would no longer be used, until Victor comes up with something...

I would do the LS7 in a Rx7 body. I think it was all aluminum. The z3 is kinda
girly IMO for a monster like that.

Pics from 4/2/9...Pieces back from paint and other stuff...
The 3 slat grill has gloss black slats and satin finish edges...
The silver fin trim is now satin black...
Part of the headlights...this part is satin finish but the part that was chrome like finish will be gloss black (still at paint)...
The orange side reflectors now black...
All satin black finish on badging...
The custom mats from formymercedes.com. They look fantastic in the SL65...fit and finish is top notch. THANK YOU Jerry(owner) from formymercedes.com...great customer service and turnaround time (a week at the most).
They were working on a silver SL55 and it had the exact same carbon fiber kit that I just bought already installed into the car...so I got a preview of what it will look like once installed...Needless to say, I am stoked.
More to come tomorrow...they will start putting the trim, grill, and headlights back together. The brake calipers were delayed and should be in house tomorrow. The DTM steering wheel and carbon fiber trim will get started Monday

The carbon fiber keyless go shift knob came in today...to match the cf interior trim going in...
Headlights put back together...the turn signal bulbs will be replaced by silver covered bulbs rather than amber stock bulbs (still lights amber though) and the running day lights will be replaced by Sylvania replacement lights that are bright white...the fogs will be converted to HID versions...
Stock wheels still on...the new wheels are going to be all satin black finish...the last pic is an example of the wheel finish (that isn't the wheel, though)...

A couple things...
1. The steering wheel is only temporary...DCT Motorsports is building a carbon fiber version of that same flat bottom steering wheel. It should be ready in 3-4 weeks.
2. The exhaust sound has been "adjusted" and it sounds fantastic...a deeper sound with some meanness while at WOT.
3. The flat hood emblem will either be a black AMG or Affalterbach version.
4. The Kleeman ELM has been installed, but they were fine tuning it when I had to leave.
I'm picking up the car tomorrow so I'll have pics after it is cleaned up a bit....
