I wonder if they did that so it could fit other models and only make one casting.

Only 650hp? You can get 550hp+ from a 6.2L AMG with a couple of bolt-ons

It's what I was thinking. Pretty tame in comparison to some of the other shiznit we got going on around here-- and the price tag doesn't make it look like a very good deal either. I'd rather take that money to VRP...and watch them snap on two of these:

But that's just me.

yeah and just saw and read BRABUS also took a new E class 2010
model 550, and bored and stroked it to 6.1 liters, redid manifold
added a cam, and ECU, and got 465 HP which makes it alot faster than stock

luv the front quarter panels,, look good on the W211 they would

the BRABUS E w212

The high price tag is probably due to Brabus' reputation. You also have to take into consideration the amount of R&D that goes into a motor like that... not that VRP doesn't have the same level of R&D going on, but Brabus has TEAMS of engineers that all need to get paid a salary. Then you take into consideration the price tag of custom cast manifolds, turbos, air boxes, intercooler, etc..

While you do have a point there..... It still doesn't justify over 200k for a freakin ML!

For that price range, I can think of COUNTLESS cars I'd rather have. Oh and I'm sure that their approach was safe reliable power and power delivery because a 6.2TT from any reputable engine builder across the country would trump those numbers easily.

I guess that means you're laughing Jim.

I believe that Brabus was thinking "reliability" and "safety" and "longevity" when designing this kit.

I'm sure that one could "tune the snot out of it" if desired.

Those numbers are at the crank...... I'm guessing they stayed conservative mainly because of tranny limitations.
