Firebird, Phoenix AZ Drag Racing Friday

Maybe some of you Arizona guys can help me out. Trying to find a strip close (somewhat) to Vegas as I will be there for Mfest.
How is Southwestern International Raceway? Any other ideas on where I can go?
Need something open either on the 9,10, or 11.

SIR is in Tucson, AZ. Where are you coming from? If Vegas than Speedworld is the closest coming from the west.

Edit: Looked into it, is not that bad of a drive from Vegas. 1 tank of gas there, 1 tank back, perfect, and the elevation isn't too bad.
How is the weather? Should start cooling heavily around 6 pm, right?

Actually should be nice both nights. 60's for sure and maybe a shot at 50's depends how fast that offshore storm moves. No rain just the cool weather coming after the couple of hot days were having today and tomorrow. That's about 2000-2500 DA which is still killer for here.

not to answer for evan but speedworld typically has more consistent track prep so there is more opportunity to run faster than firebird. but for az they're both as good as it gets.
30% chance of rain on both friday and saturday but saturday's forcasted high is only 67f which is unheard of this time of year.

Not that often, just weekends.
I would say it's the fastest track in AZ, but firebird does hold that record. The NHRA nationals is held there but they don't cater to the small timers like us for test n' tune nights. For me to run at firebird it has to be a team race or special event otherwise they don't want to waste money prepping for street cars.
Now a test n' tune before a big event is a great time to be there. Just doesn't happen very often during the cold months. The pretty much shut it down from Nov-Jan. Speedworld is more mom and pop type of dragstrip. Open Fri, Sat, Sun to everyone. Use to have wed nights but not enough participation to keep it going.
As Mikey said, it's going to be chilly and ready for some good DA. I wouldn't let the rain scare you. I've been racing all night and didn't even know rain had came and went 2 miles down the road. Typical for AZ.

I'm down for both days. Look who's talking, Mr. I can't stay late. Mikey you coming? Sat looks like killer weather if the rain has came and gone. Otherwise humidity will be higher thus affecting da.

if i can get enough miles on the new converter, i'd like to come out and give it a run.
btw, it looks like there's no drag racing at firebird this weekend so speedworld is the only option.
