2004 E55 Cupholder Issues??

Has anyone else had issues with their cupholder? Mine just stopped working today (the push button doesn't work, it won't raise by itself, and the "trap" door doesn't work anymore either). I'd not had any issues with it in the past, but today, it just quit on me.... Any idea how much another one will cost me at the dealer? What a pain.....

I don't remember the exact cost but they are under $100 and you just slide the old one out and pop the new one in...takes 15 seconds.

I'm on #3 or 4. They seem to be engineered to fail on a nearly predictable schedule.

My POS cupholder failed today. Like the OP's experience, it just stopped working. Push the "Open" button and nothing.

If steadfast on replacing part # is 66920118 (for comparison shopping, parts.com $52.90).

Mine is broken as well. I have to press the button, and manually pull the cup holder up.

Worse design ever. Actually I have a cup holder in a Lexus SC that is even worse.

Mine went out last week but just the opposite - it wont' stay down when I push it in - I didn't feel like dealing with the hassle so I just push it down and do the "quick close" with the trap door - now that I know it's on seconds and less than a hundred dollars to fix - I'll take care of it next week.

Same here , when i bought the car the guy before me must have spilt soda in there and it bake it never opened when I bought it I was trying to open it and I broke off a little piece trying to open it so I just ripped it out and now its a bigger hole , only thing is cups with lids that are the right height the lids pop off so I will have to go buy a new one.
