Tires for the street and strip?

Tires for the street and strip?
So, its time to replace the tires on my E55 and I was reading a lot on here about which tires guys preferred. I called my trusted local sports car tire shop who has provided me with new tires on many of my previous cars, in order to get their opinion. As soon as I told them I would be at the drag strip a few times throughout the summer, as well as daily driving the car, they said I should look at nothing other than the Michelin PS2. They told me that the Toyo, BFG, Goodyear, etc would all wind up either creating a lot of road noise on the highway, or be awful for daily street use.
For the guys that drive their car daily, and put it on the track occasionally and don't swap out for drag radials, what are you using?
Thanks,

i have bridgestone potenza re050a 275/35/19 and cut 1.8x 6o' on them and went 11.7 on 19" hre wheels. i think that my 19" PS2s were a bit better out of the hole, but the RE050s are better in the rain. next i am going to try Toyo T1r or Nitto INVO - i hear alot of good things about those tires......they are also cheaper.

np! i've had a lot of people try to talk me out of anything but michelins, both here and locally. i'm on my 4th set of t1r's and have absolutely no reason to go back the michelins.

You will not have much noticeable road noise with the Toyo RA-1's. I would check into those for the money, maybe the R888's. The R888's would depend on your everyday climate. Where do you live? Tiredeals4less.com....

A great tire for the road and track are the Toyo R888's really nice 3 season tire. Best handling tires for daily use I have had so far. Also really hooked up well at the strip. The are R compound tires.

I live in the Philly area. I will not be driving the car in the winter.

I just ordered Michillen pilot sport A/S tires today. I just purchased a warranty and brake pads on friday. I wanted to order some 19 inch replica wheels but I just spent over $5000 between warranty, tires and brake pads without installation so I'm going to hold off on new wheels lol

Was running Falken 452's. A little slippery when they were cold, but got nice and sticky when warm. Had them on the road course and they held great. Quiet and smooth as a daily driver too.
