So from what I see in the forum it seems I would need the UHI and associated cabling.

Reason I am asking is I have seen a couple posts about cars without phone prep that have teleaid and it mentions to just get the puck and pigtail.

Is that because they were prewired ? If I have a 2006 then I need the full setup with UHI ?

Take a quick pic' of the inside of your center console & post it here, I can tell you in a sec what you need for phn to be turned on. Just being 06' it should be equipped w/UHI (if you can't take a pic' do you have a flat plug-in port in center console about 2"x2" blk plastic female plug-in port in center top area of console?) if yes you have UHI if nothing? you have NO pre-wiring

 

I might be wrong here, but I'm pretty sure the bluetooth puck with tail only applies to 03-04 cars. Your car would need something different.

 

I have a virgin console with no connector. I also popped the plastic cover in the trunk and did not see the UHI module. I see all the cables like the pdf upgrade document on the 2005 model shows.

Guess I am going mobridge. Does it use the factory mic ?

They have a few solutions for peeps in your situation, scroll all the way thru the main page & I'm certain you'll find a solution, if too expensive copy/paste the item to Ebay to see if any sellers have it cheaper
