Mercedes E55 AMG
Where or How do you blackout tail lights???
I wanna blackout my E55 taillights, but am not sure how its done. Any help is appreciated.

most people spray it with a mixture of black and clear. any bodyshop can do it for you.

You can also DIY although I would recommend that someone with experience apply it.

VHT Nite Shades is a common product that people use. Cans are around $12-$13.

Stock Tail:


1 Coat Nite Shades:

I have had great success with Jon's Tinted Tails. I'm not affiliated with him in any way, he has just done about 5 cars for me always perfect.

You can purchase a transparency paints (smoke) from Hobby shops or you can have the stealership done it for you..most of them do that..

2005 E55, 2000 CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
Did it with the VHT Nite Shades. Worked out really well and not to much trouble. Very pleased with the results.

I tried with regular spray paint but could'nt get it to look perfect. I did the side markers and 3rd brake light and they turned out fine. But for some reason the taillights came out with weird little pockets of discoloration?
