Pulley install??

Guys, i have the Eurocharged/Let 172mm pulley.. Installing it today, but while looking at it, the MB pulley holder does not hold this pulley. How do you guys tighten the bolt without the tool? TIA!!

There's a little plug in the transmission that you take out to reveal a shaft in the transmission. Then have someone stab a giant flat head screw driver in there to hold the crankshaft in place and you can remove/install the bolt.

Make sure you're using a new crankshaft bolt and torque it to the proper lb setting.

Got eberything in, than came to find out you have to make a notch in the water pump casting to let the pulley spin freely.. So gotta finish it up tomorrow.. A slight wobble is ok im told on the crank pulley.. true?

A 172mm shouldn't rub the water pulley but if it does you can buy a smaller one like Vadim sells.

That is controversy. Test it without the belt and see if it still does it. laos look at it with some throttle and see if it goes away. If so on either, then you are fine.

Do you have a picture of this notch area? I have a 180 and it doesn't rub at all.

Do ensure it’s installed correctly, lest you encounter some potentially costly and/or frustrating problems.
Vadim fit his evosport ODPS to mine with nary an issue after ~30k sporting miles.

Others haven’t been as fortunate…https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...ys-please.html

+1. Some folks feel that a slight wobble is not a problem. The 175mm pulley on my car doesn't but I'd personally worry if it did.

Won't pulley changes cause a problem with the factory/CPO warranty?

The wobble is barely noticeable, could be my eyes playing tricks.. Anyway, the smaller water pump pulley rubs against the housing. Eurocharged informed me that it needed to be notched.. I installed the crank pulley with the OEM water pump pulley and it just clears, but they told me not to use it.. As for warranty, my MB tech is a close personal friend, so im good there..

Unfortunately ... that's one thing I'm not sure this dealer is.
