The 487hp chart is at the rear wheels... not at the crank...

Most of the things Marcus is doing performance wise (from memory) is to get consistent power delivery (ex. better control of heatsoak) and to get back to what the MB quoted as factory numbers. The work on the exhaust was not really for performance but rather for better exhaust sound.
He was at a loss from the beginning based on a bad foundation...the work done with Nick55 got him back to where he should have been in the first place. His initial dyno before doing anything was 446 to the crank which was subpar but now @ 487 it is where it should be...
I might be speaking out of turn and Marcus can better voice what his goals are...

I can't believe Aleks took pictures of it while I had pieces hanging out the door! And Marcus, PLEASE address the ride height issue now that you have a proper set of shoes on her. JK

Hey your SL 65 looks pretty nice I have to say. I've done some major mod's this past summer to my E55 and its really burned a hole in my pocket. Which is a huge pun because I had a major heating issue with the car. I'm wondering if you have any issues like that with your 65 upgrade. I realize i'm comparing apples to oranges but once I resolve this heating issue I really think my E55 can give some of your 65's a run for their money. Unfortunately there aren't too many 65's out where I live on the east coast so I have to settle for slapping around the limited competition.

I am surprised you are only running a 2 row inter cooler on such a mean setup. For such a massive engine and bi-turbo I would be running nothing less than a 3 row for your application. You wouldn't have to worry about any issues with pressure drops like one would experience with a wimpy "4 banger".
My advice to you if you are looking to increase your HP safely, go with some AI. You can run the same setup but increase the boost drastically because it helps with the IAT's which in turn lowers knock, detonation, heat spots and the best part... if you pulled your block apart 10 years down the road you would see virtually no carbon build up.
Its a fairly inexpensive mod to do and has HUGE benefits.
Out of curiosity - on these turbo setups; do you know if the wastegates are internal or external?
Beautiful wheels!
