Bad situation with dealership...helppppp

I brought my car in 2 weeks ago to get a new alternator and battery control module. I also requested a oil change. Now 2 weeks later I try to pop open my hood and it doesn't open. It was working fine when I gave it to them and I got it back now and it doesn't open. The advisor there tells me its going to cost me $630! I flipped because it was working when I gave it to them. He said this is just wear and tear???? Can anyone help me out, has anyone ever had this problem? ( I have no warranty )

Your worst nightmare...
Are you serious...Tell those people to fix your car ASAP. You handed it to them perfectly fine. Most likely the latch that opens the hood broke..., Make a case bro, call who ever you have to call to get this heard.

He's full of it!! They pinched the cable somehow.

Usually that happens with they remove the plastic piece that sits right over top of your radiator. If they pinch the cable when screwing it down tight, your screwed.

Ken said it's a real pain to get the hood open at that point since MB hides the darn cable nearly all the way to under the dash.

100% I bet they pinched the cable and are now balkin at fixin it!!

You better tell them that they are responsible for the fix as they did not return the car to you in the condition it was received. Clearly they were able to open it when fixing your car, and if this was the first time that you tried to open the hood since the repairs, then they are liable. Plain and simple.

OKKKKKKKKKKKKK just got back from the dealer at first they said they will give me 50% off. I was flipping out on them. In the end he said OK you are a valued customer here at M-Bz blah blah this 1 is on us. They fixed it FREE OF CHARGE. I can't believe they wanted me to pay $630.

You should take this matter to their manager and explain what happen. Look like the service writers or techs try to denied it. They just want to screw you over to see if you notice that or not..What a crook!!

I can only imagine how many people they do get to pay for things like this. Just because you own a MB AMG doesn't mean you'll bend over and take it when the dealer wants to screw you.

Take this up with a manager. Tell them that you did end up getting them to fix THEIR MISTAKE, but they went around and around with you trying to get you to pay for a mistake they made. Then tell them you are more than willing to find a new dealer.

+100 on a new dealer. They were trying you to see if you would fall for it, that is not a good sign.

MBWorld gave you the ***** and you got checkmate!

If you can conclusively prove that to be the case (you can't), then the dealer wouldn't have much of a defense.

the problem is proving it.

I'd call MBUSA. Probably won't acheive anything, but it's worth a shot.

Can you let us know what dealership it was so we all know to stay away? Thanks

Effin' ridiculous.

I've had my share of dealer problems too. Had one of them break a $1300 headlight and try to say "wear and tear". Wouldn't fix it till I had already drafted the lawsuit.

Best way to do is double check what is going on with your car while the SA are with you, this way he/she can determine what part is broken or what not. I have seen too many customers left their car with the SA and didn't bother to check first..Then when they get their car back or get a phone call saying that they need this part/s or that cuz its broken. So, mortal to the story is Double check before the car is going to the service bay where you have no clue what they are doing to your car..That's my $0.02

Vader13 - what type of "studio"? Music or movie? My wifey and I lived in LA for several years in the early 90s. I was playing in a few bands at the time (guitar). We lived in a very tiny but very cool 40's style apartment off Tower and Wilshire and later moved into a little bungalow behind the Century City Mall. It was the time of my life, but nothing solid ever came of it. We moved back home where I eventually did the Law School thang' and now can afford to drive an AMG and post messages on this board! I still have extended family out there and still consider LA to be kind of a second home. I still miss the place!

It was Silverstar on northern BLVD in L.I.C. The reason why I got the job done for free was because I got a manager. The service advisor was a piece of *****ttt. It's tough to find some honest help.

Back in 2001-6 As a producer you could see 2-3 dollars a unit.
There was no pirates and we still had major retail.
I am doing a deal with Mischief Teck at Costco right now..6 DVD Teckademics Box Set for 8.99...Thats about 25 cents a title..
Pre order is about 50K units so that's cool, but back in the day I sold over a Million unuts and got about 2.50-3.00 from Majors and 10 bux on the net.
When my series first went live in 2001 I sold 5000 units on the net for 24.99 then the Best Buy Royalties kicked in and in the first 6 months had hundreds of thousands off a movie that cost 500 dollars..
You can't do that anymore..

I am doing a new drift movie and it is backed by myspace, so we are getting major sponsors to have production cards or ads in the trailers, we release 10 3-5 min movies, then we have a presence at retail with a new distributor who is going to push it. SO now it's all about ad rev share. I am glad I still have the leverage to be numer one...based on an insane sales history. There is a ton of really good movies out there but they are made by guys who can't market there way out of the garage if you know what I mean, There will be an announcement soon.

Yeah. I hate these people buying these pirated DVDs, which is crap. I see them sell these all the time in downtown. I yell at all friends and relatives who purchase them. Your are supporting these pirates.
