4 wheeled car.
Will MBUSA cover tires under warranty when they go bald for no reason?
Ok real talk. My sister has a 2006 SLK350 with now 10k miles. Under warranty and has the first set of tires. The fronts are still fresh but the rears are done. She don't do burnouts, but I guess the car eats tires fast. Now I know on some tires, there are warranties for X amount of miles. Back in the day when I drove whatever stock tires I bought at Costco, if I didn't get the minimum amount of miles they said I would, they would pro-rate me a new set.
So, being under the factory warranty, would MBUSA do anything about the stock continentals?
Thanks.

They should as that car should not eat tires. My car came from the factory with the rear alignment all outta whack....Worth looking into nonetheless.

Tires covered by their own warranty and alignment not covered under MB warranty.
The first question they will ask is why you did not rotate the tires, so see they could have lasted 20,000 miles in theory.

Definitely worth running it by the dealership to see. Odds are they are going to say the car is 3 years old and it's a SLK, which comes with a "sport compound" tire. Im sure you know the drill as you drive an E55.

1. the tires have their own warranty as stated above.
2. it will be very difficult to prove driving pattern.
3. 10,000 miles is not unreasonable for a sport tire.

You said the "rears are done", did they wear out equally or un-evenly? If you can show it is a defect in the tire itself, than the tire company may pro rate them for you, but if it is because of alignment or driving hard, then you're done

If so it's probably an alignment issue. Uneven wear is usually caused by camber adjustment. You can tell if it's a toe issue if there is feathering on either edge of the tire. Feathering will feel like the rubber is actually being torn away unevenly on the edge of the contact patch.

Performance tires should not be expected to last more than 10k miles. Rear drive cars wear the rear tires and you cant disagree there. It says in the brochure that you should expect significantly lower tread life with performance tires and that it could be under 10k miles. C63 guys are killing tires in 4k miles with no hard driving and MB is not replacing them.
Unless you can show a poor alignment caused this you are sol.
MB does not warranty tires unless you buy the tire warranty at the time of purchase.

It is not at all out of the ordinary (especially considering) it is a max performance summer tire. Your best bet is to call the tire manufacturer, or rather have the MB Dealership call them, DO NOT LET the dealership tell you they cannot warranty it and you have to go to an authorized Bridgestone dealership.
The dealership (and MBUSA) is automatically a Bridgestone/Continental/Michelin tire dealer, and can warranty them as well as they can warranty the entire vehicle.

I can't. I took a week off of work to deal with this. I'm gonna get the car towed to the dealership since it's unsafe to drive. I'll have mercedes also compensate me by installing AMG valve caps. If they try and **** with me, I'll drive the car as is and crash into a tree and them sue them.
