2006 SL65 ///AMG - GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN: 2005 E55; 2002 ML55; 2001 CLK55; 1992 BMW 850i; 1991 M5
Catalyst Delete?!?

I thought that Kleemann's headers and 'downpipes' onle bypassed the primary cats leaving the secondary cats in place. Is this not correct? Do Kleemann headers and downpipes obviate both primary and secondary cats???

I ask becaus even as I type this, my tech is install a set of Kleemann headers and downpipes on my car - the K2 upgraded ECU just arrived yesterday from Colo Springs. I am gonna be really stoked if my car is converter free - especially because cats are not inspected annually for auto registration in KS the way they are in CA.

The Kleemann headers only delete the primary cats. secondaries are still in unless you decide to take those out too.

Thanks Jody.

The car is a BEAST with so few mods.

The owner is actually now "afraid" of his own car.

And he street races in Brooklyn!

Kleemann headers/downpipes lose the primary cats only. I would strongly suggest coated headers. Cory can do this for a few dollars more. We have seen more than one cracked Kleemann header on this forum.

Kleemann is top notch and Cory and Brandon are the shhitttzzz.

Looks awesome Bruce, I want those headers, and one of those TTMotorsports window stickers too. Get that car on a dyno and let us know what she puts down.

Thanks for the suggestion Rock.

The owner and I brain stormed about what to do with his budget that he put forth for me to use. I would have recommended the header coating but he bought the parts not I.

You know the ole he knows a guy, that knows a guy, that knows a guy that gets REALLY exceptional deals on certain parts...........

2006 CLS55 & 2002 SL55 (R129) Silver Arrow
I would also suggest upgrading to a larger heat exchanger, to help insure consistant power from these new upgrades.

Enjoy the new goodies, this is a great combination of mods (especially the quaif LSD).

Thanks bro. We are actually in the middle of construction and adding 2 more lifts to the left of where the 4-post is. Kinda a pigsty right now.

When you do the headers I will throw in the decals for free!

If we ever cross paths I will give you a set, no problem!

PS The only numbers that this particular client and I care about is how the car runs in the 1/4. Dyno numbers are just that.....numbers!

That seems like the most addressed point when the car was at my shop from many random clients and now on here. It seems everyone asks the same question.

He rolls with those wheels. To each his own!

As I stated above Adam the numbers at the strip is what really counts especially for this client who street races it quite a lot.

In what RPM range do the Kleeman headers add power or is the difference felt throughout the power band.
