High Mileage E63
Hey everyone, just a question for you E63 folks. I drive a C63, but my buddy is looking into an '07 E63, but it has 70K miles on it. Selling for $35K. What do you all think about the high mileage on the '07 63 engine? And that versus the price. Seems like a good price, but I'm not familiar with how well they perform after high mileage. Thanks.

An '07 with 20K miles would prolly sell for around $50K. When you consider that you are getting only $15,000 discount for 50K miles that doesn't sound like a deal that you want to jump on. That is almost 3 years of normal driving. Everything in that high mileage 63 is worn quite a bit more.
If you want the car, offer $30,000 and be firm, they will jump on that offer like lunch meat. The car has been for sale forever....

It's not the motor, it's the rest of the stuff. I personally wouldn't own one out of warranty. Unless your friend has some disposable cash stashed for future repair work.

That is a WELL used E63 that is best to be avoided as while it seems like a deal now, there are lots of parts that need to be refreshed that will eat the $15K up quickly. It is by no means worn out and has lots of life left but at 70K I would do all ball joints and rod ends, misc bushings, dampers, ALL fluids, ALL filters, and then there will be the misc. bits that need to be replaced as well.
