Shardul - THANK YOU
Hello all,
Today I pulled the trigger on a 04 e55 with 35,000 miles located at the Greenway MB dealership in Houston; but not before I had a little help from this board and A LOT of help from one member in particular.
Leaving out the gory details, sight unseen, conversations were had, deals were made and testes were shriveled once it was realized that the individual and institution said conversations and deals were had and made with were in fact, NOT my close friends and in actuality, bastions of the capitalism that some swore had gone the way of the dodo. What to do? What to do? I know - post my FIRST thread on the board and pray.
First post went out at 9:30am EST - by 2:30pm a member of this Board -Shardul - had replied back that he was willing to look at the car, exchanged numerous private emails with me, talked to me directly on the phone and moved up the time he was going to the dealership from 6:45pm to 2:30pm.
While this feel good story should end here - it doesn't.
So my wife and I just want confirmation that the interior and exterior look good and that there are no offensive odors or stains - we tell Shardul that we are extremely greatfull for all his help and that we're just curious about the overall condition of the car. We hang up. He calls back. Interior is good, exterior is good. Testes unshrivel.
What comes next, I believe is one of those "renew your faith in humanity" moments because as I'm thinking of ways to get Shardul the beer I promised him these gems come out of his mouth: I checked the belt on the supercharger and the tension is good, there no fluids leaking anywhere, there's a spare in the trunk and you have about five to ten thousand miles before you'll need new brakes - definitely looks like these are first set. There's no scratches on nav screen everything else is Tip top. I believe this is an understatement: .
I know that this was long winded but it must be said: Shardul - THANK YOU. Before today I didn't know you, after today - I will never forget you. It was an incredibly selfless set of actions you performed today for a complete stranger and because of you I am able to sleep tonight and enjoy a dreamed fullfilled.
Thank you again,
BT

See the world is made up of really nice people too. The media just doesn't cover it too well because it doesn't sell. Shardul, you are a selfless and kind heart man. If you ever need someone in Pittsburgh or Toronto just call on me.
Great job to share in another's dream and help make it happen.
