Lease Return Question

I have a 39 month lease on my car, and now that the end of the term is coming up in a few months, Im wondering what do I do about registration?

Am I supposed to pay for the full year of registration, even though Im only driving it 3 months past it? If I just dont pay the registration and take my chance for 3 months, will they charge me for it anyway when I turn it in?

While Im at at....if my calipers are painted yellow, are they going to care, or does it need to be silver like it came from the factory? All other mods can be taken off easily except the paint.

I'll probably make a post in August (36 months) to start the fire sale. Unless I can get a car dealer to take over earlier if I buy a new car.

Talk to Jeff in the pre-owned department. He is lease return guy, he will tell you what you need to do with calipers.

Good Luck!

You owe the reg, thats the price you pay for getting a 36 month residual and a 39 month term. You will have to see what your payment per month savings was but Im sure it will more than cover the reg fees (except in Cali they went up so maybe not).

I would not take a chance on driving the car for 3 months with no reg--- thats just too risky and if you get popped its a possible impound.

I dont think the yellow cali's will be a big deal.

Well I never leased a MB but I know for my infiniti I took it in with tinted tails and aftermarket lights and sidemarkers and they thought it was pretty cool. I also had a friend who had a 745i and he put a custom system in his trunk with weird speakers hanging out the door and they told him to remove all of it or he would have to pay a fee because it decrease's the value of the car. In your case I think your fine to return the way it is IMO.
