Reso and 2nd cat removal ... sound?
Hello ~
I had my reso deleted ... but want some more roaring.
The question is ... how much difference in sound between deleting reso only and deleting both reso and 2nd cat?
Thanks in advance ...

I got the magnaflow magnapack axel back put on last week and it sounds insane. I did have my resonator deleted with 3" pipes with both cats in place, and it sounds very mean. Very deep with a descent amount of drone but at WOT, it turns muscular and nice and smooth.

I used pypes dual stainless steel polihed tips. My car is in the shop getting the kleeman's put on so I will get pics this week. I am also going to do a video clip for you guys. I know that the more hardcore owners like Jakpro, Aleksander and the others after a more aggressive note will like it, but the majority here will say it is WAY to loud and obnoxious.

i did mine with 2nd delete with resonator replaced with straight pipes, it definitely sounds alot more meaner and louder than just the resonator, but when you first get it, you wont notice a big difference, drive around with it for a good while and ull really start noticing the difference, specially when i drive around in florida's weather, when i drive around for a long time, the exhaust gets alot louder and aggressive

Been reading exhaust threads for awhile now, but I've not seen responses about what the sound is like if the 2ndary cats are deleted and that's all? I'm really not wanting any drone issues so I was thinking of keeping resonator. Anybody done this? If so was it noticeable at all?

I was going to get my resonator taken out this weekend. I might as well do the secondary cat removal as well... I want a nice deep grunt so that sounds perfect. I was quoted $200 for the reso delete- that sound about right? How much more should it be for the cat delete?

I got my reso deleted and replaced with straight pipes for $70, so $200 is way too high if going with straight pipes.
If going with an X-pipe it will be higher depending upon make of x-pipe. I was quoted $125 for reso delete and magnaflow x-pipe install.

Dumb question, but do you need to re-tune the ecu for hacking out the 2nd cats. i know the resonator would not have an issue with the ecu.
anyone have sound clips of 2nd and reso removed with stock mufflers?

That sounds really good. I bet it doesn't drone either. Gotta ditch 2 of my cats for sure.

The secondaries don't have o2 sensors. It's the primaries that will trigger a light.
