When I first bought my 55 it had a crappy tint job with the dreaded grey rear corrners from not pushing the tint into the rear corner window. The tint has to be perfectly cut to get pushed into that rear corner window. check this thread vtecsti.

The tint is fixed. Thank You for Gilbert and Andrew at Driven Dynamics fixing the problem. It was the computer program didn't cut the small section on the quarter window.
They cut a new piece and slide it to back. The seal is tight. They could cut the seal for bigger gap. But instead of cutting the rubber, they popped the window trim, which loosen up the seal a little more to slide the tint to the back.

Looks good! So they could just go over the factory tint? Ive been holding off on tinting because i thought they would have to take it off first. I might just do the same % as you.
EDIT: Also how much did this cost you?

Only thread, but I live in the middle of nowhere North Carolina. There isn't even a place to get my windows tinted anymore and the tint that was on my Jeep when purchased is peeling badly. Most definitely a homemade job.
I just talked to a couple local tinting shops, and they said i shouldn't tint over the factory tint and that i would need to remove it, which cost like 120 extra. They said because the tint is older and would cause problems later on. Also they said it wouldnt stick as well and would look ugly from inside. Are you sure you guys had tint and not a dyed window?
