Pulley install with locking the flexplate Info?

I have a pulley on the way! I read and did some searching on install, I see there is a tool but also some posts on locking the flexplate with a bolt. Or sometimes refereed as the tranny lock method Any further information available? As a side note its quite funny how thinks have changed over the years. Posts from 2005 from some well know board members stating how its completely unadvised to try and change your own pulley.LOL

Thank you for the information, I have read that and he is using the MB tool, After reading about the tool and factoring that I'll be working by myself I would prefer to lock the flex plate hence the topic of this thread.
