The 6.3 AMG only goes up to 3K RPM in neutral. Wonder how long the speedshift will last if it revved to 8K RPM and then thrown in drive.

well my friend , drrive at 10km speed and put it on ( N ) and hit it to reach 8k RPM and then shift it to (D) while is in high RPM's and tell us what happens to your tranny ^_*

The GT-R no longer comes with the abusive LC.

Unless you can find someone that bought an 09 and has not done the reflash. Which to me, would only be useful, if you were doing a full PPG gear replacement.

If you are buying a 09 or 10 from a dealer, then you are getting the LC2 which can be done in any mode, and as many times as you want, and still achieves a 3.3-3.5 0-60. 11.7 1/4. Bone stock.

The notorious misinformation spread about the GT-R, is due to an unprecedented hate for new talent. It kills most P, F, and L-car fans that a Nissan will dust them. I also see that same sentiment from a few members here. The GT-R is a new benchmark, and car enthusiasts should encourage this. It will just press the others to try harder and charge less.

I for one sold my E55, in order to buy a GT-R, but was then screwed my local dealer. Someone always has a bigger checkbook. I am actually happy that happened. Instead of spending 82k for a brand new 09, and then another 1500 for the 1000 mile service... I'll end up buying one with the service completed for less than 70k.

I would only buy from Nissan dealers, therefore the warranty can not be disputed. A lot of owners reflash with the Cobb AP, which can lead to a warranty denial.

Personally, I don't plan on doing any serious mods, till the warranty expires. Just wheels, coilovers and a Amuse Ti exhaust to start.

Vic your wheels look great!

I drove my stock car in auto mode almost religiously. I could not get used to the paddle shifters not moving with the wheel. They are mounted to the steering column and I was too used to my M6. Auto mode is a killer from a dig or down low (in a good way) but is not optimal from a roll or higher speeds since the tranny has to sequentially go thru the gears. But the shifts are faster than S6 mode in my M6. They are incredible!!
You're right. I drove 09' GTR in hi speed. E55 has a better top gear than GTR. I belive it because awd and tq. From a roll GTR's suck in auto mode. I hate GTR in auto mode because the tranny shift up the gear too fast even i drove in slow speed unlike my 09' M3, i be able to adjust the tranny to shift the gear between rpm i want. I feel in love when i hit the M button! LOL

I drove 08' M5 and M6. When i punch it, they too loud for me and they got no punch like E55. I also drove 07' 911 Turbo too. I like it more than GTR. If from a dig GTR and 911 Turbo kill E55 for good.

BTW Vic55 i saw your sig, you have IS-F too right? Do you like it? I almost bought it but i didn't because i coudn't make it spin the rear wheels from dead stop. LOL But i love navigation in that's car. I bought 335I instead but BMW don't cool navigation like that. I love japanese's cars. They always have hi tech stuff in their cars.

I got it for the better half- she works for Lexus so she gets a car allowance if she drives one... I like the looks and the exhaust pipes on a white car are bearable. Its not a slow car but its not GT-R or 997TT fast- I think it traps 112-114'ish depending on which mag you read. It has good gauges with blue dials and like you said, the nav is better than most. I find the 8 speeds to be a bit of overkill especially in city driving; you can often find yourself in the wrong gear so I just drive it in auto mode. Its not a bad handler for a small sedan also but its bit rougher on the highway than my BMW or even the GT-R believe or not. Ive only driven it 4 times since we got it in June and I dont plan on the 5th time very soon.

Im running the Swift springs, 1 inch drop all the way around (lowest for springs) and the best "maintain stock" feel that I could find based on research and test drives.

the 1,000 mile service is required, but it's free... the GT-R service gets pricey at 18k miles, the transmission and differential fluids need changing for $1100....

I am willing to bet both Fiske and Vic have read that article.

There is a it of skew to that one, as most owners have not paid anywhere near that price.

I only put about 7-10k a year on my car now, so I can handle the 18k service.

Yeah that article is overkill in relation to prices... 18k service will not be an issue for me either as I have 3k miles on mine. I can get the tranny service done for about 500 which is circa dealer cost or less depending on the dealership economical environment.

Those P40s look fantastic on the M3.

I was thinking about those for the GT-R, but I think the GT-R needs a wheel with a lip. I am going with 21s to start. Once I start to tune heavily, I'll switch to Dymags.

I have found my car. Brand new 2009. black. Dealer just needs to wake up, and realize I am the only chance he has got for getting rid of one of the 5 GT-Rs he has before the fiscal year ends. It's funny because this car has been sitting there, since it came in. Started at 87 and now is at 75.

I did not think you could even get 10L of tranny fluid for that amount.

I am seriously considering switching over to the Willall fluids (trans/diff). The stuff sounds great from the early reviews but is it just hype or the real deal?

I hear cost is circa 50 per bottle and the swap takes 10 bottles; I know a dealer so labor would be washed. As for Willall, I have heard all good things. That might be another route.

I love P40's, I got the glossys on the 997TT and scored a smoking deal on set of textured ones for the M3.

I personally dont like 21's on the GT-R- takes away just too much in the performance arena. As for lipped wheels, I like both face forward and lips for the GT-R. There are some serious Volk wheels that have no real lip and look big for 20's if you want that 21 inch look. The P40's look great too, do a search on Nagtroc, there is at least one car with dark P40's.

The best thing one can do is drop the runflats (I have yet to do it) and get a set of PS2's which will save 10lbs per wheel in unsprung weight. I actually find the runflats to be amazing in regards to grip though.

No one will ever be able to accuse you of not doing your part to help stimulate the economy.

I was looking for a daily beater/driver. My intent was never to have 4 cars (3 for me, 1 for the better half) but when the GT-R deal came my way I couldnt pass it up. So I kept the M6 and just finished it off but by then I didnt want to just have 2 cars for myself (GT-R and 997TT) and need an "all rounder" that I could mod reasonably. The M3 with DCT was the choice for me.

yea, I'm surprised my original tires have lasted this long, I have 15k miles on them, the inside of the fronts are low, so I'll need new tires soon..... I was looking for PS2's but tirerack didn't show them on the OEM sizes....

I have PS2s, 255/40/20f and 295/35/20r. They are 28" front and rear and save you lots of unsprung weight. Vic is too cheap to make the investment.

I have done some shopping, and I don't think I even want to consider the 21s.

A 21" HRE with tires is going to cost a incredible amount. The tires are extremely costly. I think I will end up going with some Volk G2s.

Glossy, like the Challenge GT-R. Cobb or Swift.
