2003 or 2004?

My dealer called me today to inform me that the production date of my vehicle is the first week of june which would mean a July delivery. He suggested I wait a couple of months and get a 2004 because of a few minor but not insignificant improvements which he didn't elaborate on. The only question is should I let him cash in on the first E55 and be patient, or should I take the car in July? I do not plan on getting Comand in the car and I plan to lease it. Right now I'm leaning toward a 2004 because it seems like that is a more desirable vehicle.

I had the exact same choice. I decided to go 2004 because of Nav and Depreciation. If Nav doesn't matter and you get the same residual on your lease, I would probably take the 2003 and start beating the pants of your local corvettes.

Unfortunately lease residual won't be known until the car arrives in July and I'll have to decide before that.

Go with the 2004.
It's only a matter of extra weeks and you'll spend 10-20 times longer than that owning the car and being glad you have the 2004. The only advantage to the '03 is that for a very few weeks you'll be a part of a very small club of 211E55 owners, but once the '04's arrive, you'll wish you'd waited.
If the wait were 9 months or something that would be a very different situation IMO.

Agree with most of the guys here get the 2004 model. According to my dealer normally the first batch has some few bugs that needs fixing.
