I like the pinstripe with the silver or white car, all black for darker colors.
Anyone know what these forgestars weigh vs. stock? Good looking wheel for $1500 / set. I recall OZ has cast wheels using some proprietary process that is quite strong but remains relatively light. Perhaps it is a similar technology.

going with the black with no pinstripe was the best choice IMO
i have to say your car with the HRE set up made me want to get an E55 (which should be expected by the end of the month)

I talked to Vince about the Forgestar wheels and he is making the ones with the lip for a friend of mine. I actually contemplated on the F14 but decided to hold off and pick up some HRE M40s sometime soon.

I do think they will look good, especially for the price. Def want to see pictures of them on your car. What color did you go with? I liked Piano Black...

Sorry but your forgerystars will not look better than the HRE's. Maybe you need to justify in your eyes but if they were so great we would all see more of them.

They came out in February, of course you don't see them everywhere. And I genuinely think they look better than M40's. I don't really like the flat look of the HRE's, the concave of the Forgestars look tons better to me. Don't be a hater. Just because something costs a lot of money doesn't make it necessarily better.

prodigy, I went direct and I was able to get them rushed but that kind of turn around shouldn't be expected by regular customers.that was done for mr a a favor if anything. Normal turnaround is 8 to 14 days.

i deal directly with vince@iforged. i had Essens on my GTI. i know the lead time on these is not nearly as long as the iforged wheels......however my friend's set has been taking a very long time. he went with the other style they offer.

To go from forged strong wheels to heavy cast wheels might be enticing pricewise but thats your call. Pictures may make the wheels look good but driving and performance will suffer but you dont care about that, I forgot. You mentioned you dont go fast or race. Why did you get an E55- you could have got an E350 and modded it up. E350 are less and as you said just because something costs more doesnt make it necessarily better.
Does the E55 fall into that category....

While the forged wheels (HRE, iForged, DPE etc) have a forged center, the barrel is soft and not that great.
I for one dislike cast wheel in that they are heavy. They are rather solid in comparison to the soft aluminum barrels found on high priced multipiece getups, but they aren't my cup of tea.
After looking at my options, a friend of mine and employee of iForged/DTM Kreuz told me about a new company they started called Forgestar. Their claim is that they make the wheels following a "flow formed" process, which is utilized by BBS and Einkei. Cool. Good enough for me. It's 15% lighter than cast and not suseptible to barrels bending like crazy.

and by "stronger", well, that's self explanatory. I dont know if you're being sarcastic Vic, but these are definitely not a cast wheel.Whereas it could be argued, I suppose, that flow forming is a version of casting, the pressure involved is vastly greater than both gravity casting and pressure casting. I'm not one to order a product before doing my research and I can tell you, these are no boats
