Okay, it's fast, unique, cutting edge, highly modifiable and a performance value but for God sake.............It's Japanese..............It will never compete with z-Germans.
If Vic55 would actually speak to me, I would tell him to sell his car for a significant discount (due to a weak market for the GTR) and offer those 20" LMs to a deserving member, for let's say...........$3,200.00.
You going to hose the rice off of them before you put them on your benz, or have them refinished just to be safe? Originally Posted by Rock

Its the best car for the money and with additional 5000 its as fast as ZR1? as simple as it is.

I want one.

The ZR1 let off at the end there, but I'm surprised that the lightly modified GTR held in there that long.
I'm thinking that the driver in the ZR11 was a big factor vs the super fast electronic paddle shift GTR. It all boils down to this - the ZR1 faster car... in the hands of a competent driver.

its sure is, dsg in GTR is one of the best there is, its been confirmed by many drivers. Gtr is from another planet, many people just cant get used to that.Originally Posted by taurran

Germans must rethink their game, just like GTR did.

By that you mean replacing the driving experience with electronic gadgetry? Sure, it makes a super fast car on the road course and a no-brainer in a straight line... but there are some folks out there who still enjoy banging gears and smoking tires.Originally Posted by BoBcanada

Two different breeds of car entirely... to each his own.

If you were considering buying a used GTR or ZR1, which one would give the least problems after being driven hard as H????

People just love to hate the GTR. The first screams are always "it's jap crap", which is funny because it couldn't be further from the truth. The GTR was developed by engineers all over the world; the chassis was tuned by Lotus, the engine co-developed with Ford Cosworth, and the transmission is built by the same company that makes the Veyron's. It's the culmination of a world-wide effort to make a world-beater.

No one doubts the stock GTR is gonna lose.

If i had a choice between the two I would take the ZR1 no question. With a couple of mods, you could put a booster rocket on a GTR and wouldn't do you any good. I bet this summer there will be a ZR1 with over 900HP and I hope my popcorn doesn't go stale waiting for a GTR to beat it. the GTR is a great car but, it cannot out perform a ZR1 stock vs. stock or modded vs. modded. even ferrari is at home right now doing there homework preparing a response. F-car owners are trashin the car just like folks on this site are trashin the GTR, but make no mistake these two cars can make an *** out of you if your not careful. they both can deliver a good spankin.
