ipod/iphone integration?
Has anyone solved an ipod/iphone integration for the E55 211? I have one of those FM tuner things and it really really sucks. Static ALL the time. Worthless. there has to be a better way, especially since the CD player (at least in my '03) won't play MP3s.

Here is my solution:
iPhone 3G connected to the Mercedes-Benz iPod kit via the iPhone 3G cradle.
Music from the iPod program can be played as well as music streamed through any of the internet music programs such as Pandora and imeem.

I just ordered a Mobridge bluetooth w/Ipod adapter kit for my '05. Got it on eBay for $800 shipped. Since my car's not wired for the phone (post-'04), this was my best bet - the dealer wants almost $3k for the MB factory phone kit. I haven't received it yet, but everything I've read here and on Mobridge/Incartronics websites indicates it will do everything I want and is a simple install.
I have an Iphone as well but I think I'd rather use bluetooth and just keep an old nano in the glove box as my dedicated music player. While I'll be missing out on Pandora, I don't really want to dock my phone every time I get in the car, so I guess this is the tradeoff. I don't go on long drives (I live in HI, how far can I go?) so I don't need to charge my phone in the car either. I've been using the aux input for my ipod (not a great solution) and I know I'll be much happier upgrading to this kit.
Good luck.

Cheap solution:
Pick up a phono extension cable at radio shack...something along the lines of (http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...odsInSession=1), just make sure it fits your iphone/ipod since the different generations take different plug lengths.
Plug into "Aux" connection inside glove box (for those who don't see it, lay your head on the passenger seat and look along the top of the glovebox when it is open...you will see a little phono jack input). I tuck the cord back in the glovebox when not in use.
Buy a iphone car charger from a discount store or pick one up off ebay. You can get a decent one for a few bucks. I got mine from a "$5 and below" and it glows a cool blue color.
Works/sounds much better than an FM modulator and a lot cheaper than going with the integration kit. You will still have to manage your songs with the iphone/ipod though, so no changing songs from the steering wheel buttons.

You might want to double-check my research, but I thought I read that all '03-'04 could use the puck & tail solution for BT, whereas '05+ without wiring is SOL. If you want integrated iPod too, then Mobridge would probably be a good solution at $800 since the puck will run you $300 or so and the iPod adapter is another $500.

OK... So since I have an 06 without iPod/Telephone, in order to use my iPhone 3GS, I would need the telephone kit (is it MHI or UHI), iPod kit, and the iPhone 3G cradle?
I saw the post about how to install the iPod kit, and it doesn't look too complicated, just time consuming. I imagine since I am pretty much tearing everything out of the car anyway, installing the rest of it isn't much more difficult...
Is there anything else I would need???
Anyone know of someone (besides the dealer) in Raleigh, NC that could install all of it, or at least help me out with the install???
