The new E63 has only 11hp more than the W211 W63 ? and even slower ?? W212 says 4.4 sec from 0-60 but the W211 was showed at 4.3 sec.
E55 4.5 sec
E63 4.3 sec w211
E63 4.4 sec w212 with better transmission and 11 hp +
For only 11 hp more and slower car that a very special car......
not to mention base price $87,700 it will be around $100k with options outdoor price.....

The W212 E63 is heavier then the last built W211 E63. The slight boost in hp with the W212 doesn't do anything 'cause of the weight. But the MCT will probably make it seem like it's faster.

It would seem that DCT launch control would provide consistently faster launches & acceleration times than the 211 with traction control on or off. Modulating the throttle "manually" with your foot still isn't a match, run after run, for a properly programmed launch control system. Perhaps this is why the '10 seems (or is) faster.

I like the W212 E63...
one thing I want to see.. can it trap higher than the outgoing model. I think so, based on some recent test of the SL63. I'm not sure about 0-60 or ETA but I think it will trap higher.
Less power loss vs torque converter and faster shifts.
Anybody have the difference in ratios btw auto 7sp and MCT?

Just took delivery last night... Stone Grey 2010 E63. I had a 2005 E55 and 2008 E63 leading up to this car, driven it just 75 miles, and can already tell that the new transmission is to die for...

I would personally be more interested in seeing MB revert back to forced induction rather than splitting hairs on whether or not it should have an automatic or manual transmission. I am a diehard manual transmission fan (even though my current lineup doesn't speak for it) but even if the 63 were to come in manual I would go for a supercharged CTS-V over it based on the engine alone.
