I think it's because he sees it as the same as putting on a M3 badge on the back a 330i with the M sports package. 330i is not the same engine, car, as a M3 etc... AMG sports style package car doesn't come with a rear AMG badge. Or an AMG motor.

I personally think putting an AMG badge on a non Amg car shouldnt be as frowned upon as it is made to be, i think trying to pass your car off as an AMG special edition (I know the other poster was being sarcastic) should be frowned upon because it's not and I have seen it plenty of times , I just believe that if it has the AMG sport package, and the AMG wheels. , and the Agility package , you should be able to put an AMG badge on it, it's not called the AMG package for nothing, Just the other day I saw a 2012 CLS550 with an AMG badge on the back ON THE LOT, so the dealerships are doing it too.

Local carwash smashed up my dually then sent me here to get a quote. As if I'd ever let these guys touch my vehicles. I found this here though. Looks like the shops car as the shops called "lento" and the car has a "lento" badge on the fender.

No it wouldn't be the same as putting an m3 badge on a 3 series with an M sport package, it would be the same as putting an M badge on a 3 series the M sport package, putting an M3 badge on a 3 series is like putting c63 amg badges on a c class,

Except I don't have an AMG badge on my trunk I was just trying to point out the flaw in your argument, and used that as a jumping off point to express my opinion of the topic.

Ah, well at least you don't have it on. Fact is, even as muddled as they have become as M-B decides to ***** out the AMG look as the standard-MB-look nowadays, they set the "rules", and the AMG badge on the trunk is practically the only visual presence that tells the "real" AMG's apart (body kits are ever so slightly different, as are wheels, but they're so slight, it's hard to tell, pretty much impossible to tell to non-MB-enthusiasts).

I took my debadged coupe to one of those used car places that sells all the expensive cars for cheap prices just to have a look around and the stupid sales man thought my car was an AMG hahahaha

Lol. Yeah I debadged mine as well. I get asked if it's an "AMG" as well. Hey, that's M-B's fault! Their decision (though some of the exterior "mods" or "tweaks" I've done make it look a lot more aggressive than stock)! But I surely won't pose by telling people it is or putting "AMG" badges all over it (the wheels already come with AMG logo's from the factory). I'm proud of the car and wanted it just the way it is!

Lol, the c class coupe looks shockingly similar to the c63 coupe, with quad exhaust and the grill being the only really noticeable difference, along with the tiny bit wider fenders and the hood of course they look pretty much identical, i really like the mods you have done to yours, ive been lurking your pictures haha, i should have gotten silver instead of black because although i have the panoramic roof you wouldnt be able to tell if its wrapped or real because its black, and i wanted to wrap my bottom lip in carbon fiber like you painted yours black but you wouldnt be able to tell haha, how did you get your side "turn signals" blacked out? idk weather to paint them with the tail light tint spray, or wrap them with the tail light wrap, i have both

Thanks man! Yeah, that's an issue with black, the contrast of a Pano roof or other black accent mods just don't show up at all.
With the front side markers, I had black wrap put over them (covers the orange lighting even when they're on, completely, except for some glow you can see around the edges, with is cool by me), and on the rears I had them put the lightest tint film they had over the white portion.

I think I will wrap mine if I get some free time tomorrow, I bought this huge box of tinting film from a website and never got around to using it haha, I like your idea of wrapping the side pillars in carbon fiber aswell, I might give that a try, how hard can it be?! Haha
