2010 E550.. Gone but never forgotton - E63 AMG..
2010 E550 INSANE lease numbers

1. Black loaded E550 on the show room floor (Sticker $ 66,500) I have to admit the car looked very aggressive and the black interior with the sport steering wheel blew me away. It was SICK…
Anyway, I currently have a blk 08 E63 , lease is up in Jan of 2010.. Dealer told me he would eat 3 payments and give me a 36 month lease on the E550 with $ 4000 down and 1150 a month.
Are these people crazy ??? Am I crazy to think that deal is a total RIP…

2. Dealer also said he would knock 10K off the residual on the 08 63 if I wanted to keep it.. Currently It's 61,000… You think I should purchase the car for 51K ? I barely have 10,000 miles on it.

Thanks for the feedback!
Cheers

The W211 E63 is definitely a keeper, it's such an elegant design inside and out. It's not worth it to switch to an E550...... I would just wait until the W212 E63 comes out and try to work out a deal for one of those (if you end up liking it of course). Personally, I'm not a big fan of the W212..... (at least not yet). I think the car looks "okay" but the rear-end will just take sometime to get used to...... just looks to cheap and too weird . But, I will probably end up buying one when they switch to twin turbos 2 years later

I guess now I don't have to ask myself how come I never ever see E550's on the road. I have seen plenty of E63's but I don't ever see E550's. If I was you I would keep the E63

Or give it a year, and the price will drop to half

Going forward leasing will be more expensive. MB and BMW lost massive amounts of money on leasing and they have adjusted residual values to protect against this problem moving forward. The scale of the write-offs being done by DCFS and BMWFS are extraordinary. BMW keeps having 300-500m write downs on lease returns and with anymore of thiose they might not be around financing cars any longer.

So calculate it out on that car you think is a rip and realize in 36 months it will likely be worth 1/2 what it was new. So say that is true and you have a payment of oh 920 a month before interest. I dont know the residual but between the money factor and residuals MB Financial Services is now trying to NOT lose money on your lease. All these E55's that were leased for 995 a month were total losers and you cant expect them to keep just giving away money for fun.

Re: 2010 E550 Lease

I just upgraded from an 07 E550 to my E63. The 550 is a nice car, but always left me a bit wanting...for a little more power, a little better cornering, a little more aggressive shifting etc. To my taste, the 63 is much better in every way. Given that the W212 550 weighs 250 lbs more then the W211 version, I would surmise that those wants would likely be a little bigger.

I'd keep your E63 and would buy it out for the $51K figure in a heartbeat, that is a very good offer.

Sl63

My E63 was coming off lease in Feb and I decided I wanted an SL63. The sticker on the one I wanted was 140k. They quoted me a lease price of 3325 a month for 39 months. Lets see, 3325 x 39 = 129,000. I told them "you seriously expect me to pay 130k of the 140k sticker price and then give the car back?". They said yes, sorry that's all we can do. I walked away.
Found another dealer in another state that gave me a SL63 for 2600 a month and they paid the last 5 lease payments on the E63. Which makes the total cost to me over the 39 months is 95k after you subtract the 5 payments. I couldn't believe that the price was over 30,000$ different between the 2 dealerships. So while I think it is true that leasing has become a more expensive option, I would shop around.

On top of what has been said, every brand new model has terrible lease rates in the beginning. $51,000 for an 08 E63 with 10k mi. is a raging bargain. If you are looking to buy, that is a deal you won't find anywhere else. I've been looking at E63s, looking to buy one this month. $51k is a fair price for an 07 with that mileage. If you do the deal but don't want the 63 slide it my way .

Problem is the dealer doesn't cut the residual it would need to be Mercedes Benz Financial. A revised residual to $51,000 for an '08 is too good to be true. That is below the prices being offered for the '07s coming off lease. You could immediately sell the car for $60 or more, something just doesn't add up...

Post I sat in the 2010 E550

I got a chance last week to sit in a 2010 model new E550 sport package at my dealership... the front looks awesome but the back (like everyone has aleady said) takes a little time to get used to it. The interior was just awesome though and the fit, finish, and materials were better than the 2009 model E classes ....

Just wait a couple years till the 550 models are gone and they bring in the bi-turbo V-8's to stay ahead of the all-new 5 series (550i) coming out next year which will have that new DI bi-turbo 4.4. liter V-8....

The black color SL 65 Black Series they had on the showroom floor though was definitely way more bad *** in person than in any picture... it just looks like what the Predator would drive if he chose to live on Earth... the only few things it needs as far as upgrades is probably a bigger brake upgrade (only because some of the magazine tests say the brakes wore out quickly when they were testing driving it hard), ECU and exhaust tuning (that upgraded 65 engine has way way more potential than 661 HP), carbon wheels, carbon light-weight seats like in the Euro version, and definitely some kind of heavy duty 3M clear bra and paint protection, plus ofcourse a K40 radar/laser system. Tonight on the way home from a nightclub on the highway going home, thank God I was only going 75 MPH in a 65 MPH zone just cruising... I have the K40 but it does no good when the cops don't even turn their system on until the last second and its too late to slow down cuz they've already got your speed....
If I was in a SL 65 I would've gone to jail cuz I would've been racing the Audi S5 coupe that was trying to coax me into a street race .... he's alot faster than my CL 550 but I wonder if he would've (or any other Audi or BMW) tried to race me if I had a 65 BS?
And don't alot of states now have a law that if you're going 100 MPH or higher, no matter what the reason is you go straight to jail?

My brother's fiancee was driving his Bentley while they were headed to HH, SC. Caught at 130mph. Given a warning. Cop said, "next time, don't pull into the left shoulder, go to the right"

She got a little flustered, as she was pulling back onto the highway, apparently gave it too much gas. My brother says that he was looking back at the cop via the passenger mirror, he sees about a cubic yard of turf kicked up onto the cop's windshield...they proceeded on their way without incident

mmmmm

i liked the E-coupe as i saw the rear looks nicer than the E sedan

dunno

but i liked it more

although the interior of the sedan is nicer

espacially where the mouse in the sedan is in the middle and the arm rest is better.

but the exterior no no for the sedan
