I spoke with Michael and confirmed that yes, on cars out of warranty, the coverage extends 5 years from the service contract date, and 70000 miles from my current mileage.
I'm getting an inspection next week. Just need to decide which deductible to choose-- at those prices, it looks like the 7th visit under the $200 deductible plan would start to cost more overall than the $100 plan, not accounting for the time value of money. So, the question becomes whether I will end up with 7 or more visits during the 5 years...
New cars, or cars under factory warranty are different. The following is from the Zeigler site:Originally Posted by artowar

A: All New Vehicle Chrysler Service Contracts, plan coverage starts on the day you purchase the plan. The plan term starts at the ORIGINAL IN-SERVICE DATE OF THE VEHICLE AND AT ZERO MILES, not upon expiration of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

Just another warning on after market warrantees. I purchased a Great Lakes Warranty on my 2003 BMW 540ia (recommended by my indy bmw tech) in 2008. The last 2 years they have covered everything cooling system, starter, window regulator,02 sensors, manifold issues etc... Then when I went in recently for oil change and inspection Babbitt Motor Werks informed me they have not received payments from G.L.W since July 2009
on any accounts. I'm hearing same across the country. They will not say they are going out of business, but seems obvious.I still have 2 years left on mine.Right now I'm a little nervous.
