Converting E55 taillights to E63. Questions?
Hey guys,
Where is the best place to get a set of E63 taillights for my E55. I would like oem but dont mind aftermarket if the quality is like oem. I know alot of you have done it. If you can give me a link to where you got them it would be great.

Also what should i expect to pay for them?


Lastly I assume the E63 taillights fit the E55 with no mods at all. Should be a simple plug and play right?

You can buy it on eBay for less than $250. I had mine for almost a year now. They are not-OEM but you really can't even tell the difference. The set that I have is of very high quality. I forgot the member who I bought it from though. Search eBay.

Is there any difference besides cosmetic? The two 'slits' vs the one piece of clear plastic... LEDs no LEDs? Just curious.

No difference. I'm pretty confident that no one can tell unless they remove the assembly and look inside.

I am 100% satisfied with the set I got from eBay.
Yes, they are LED.

All for looks. I did the E63 rear end garnish, spoiler, and tail-light swap.
It looks more modern than the E55. I didn't do the rear bumper beause that involve bigger $.

100% cosmetic. I like both lights equally so I have not switched yet (and probably wont)

Whats the appearance package?
I went to order the E63 taillights for my e55 and they asked if I needed them with or without appearance package.

I dont know which to get. Whats the difference?

I dont even know if my E55 has an appearance package

I have no idea what an appearance package is.
All E63 comes with the same tail lights.
