First Kill in the E55

Just got this car last week and haven't really had a chance to drive it. On my way home tonight and find a nice long stretch of open highway so I do a quick 60 - 120, nice. As I slow down I see headlamps approaching fast, a BMW 745Li. Now I'm a BMW guy so don't get me wrong, but a 745, please. I even gave the guy the jump - no contest. Liking the new Mb.

Yeah I'm sure the Alpina would be better, but those put down less whp than a M5 (which I used to own) and weigh twice as much. Not scared.

Did get beat by my buddie's new sc'd CTS-V, those things are fast for a Caddy.

CTS-V is fast for any sedan

745Li is not so fast. it's like killing a Q45

Did you run it with the M3 yet? That sounds like a decent run for your monster.

I killed a Chrysler 300 SRT8 on the way home today.

I killed a new challenger last friday too. It's like taking candy from a baby.

Same guy with the CTSV owns a modded Ford GT, which is a long standing rivalry vs my HPF M3. Here's a clip of our latest matchup - the GT owner has since installed the latest Whipple S/C'r, which I want no part of.

I remember this video Scott, I'm an E46 Fanatics member and I post regularly there in the FI section. Perhaps Stage 3 is in the works to get him taken care of or even Stage 4.

Yah, he's cost me some cash keeping up. I may just let him have the title at this point.. I'm at the limits of what the car can do traction wise.

Very true, I still love the M3 for what it is, it can be daily driven, has a decent trunk and IMHO looks way better than a GT40. Power isn't just everything, refinement and versatility also needs to be taken into account. That's one reason why I love the E55 as well.

I'm supposed to race a 09 CTS-V soon.

Did you guys race from a rolling start or from 0 and what speeds did you start and finish at. I'm very interested since I should be going at it with 1 soon.

Since you just bought your E55 you might want to check out the johnson pump on the car. I was losing alot of power before I changed my stock pump into the CM30 pump. I took it to the the dyno and put down 411Whp stock.

The CTS-V will take you regardless of how you do it. Love my E55 but respect the CTS-V

Congrats on the new buy Scott. Hope to see it at the new meeting spot for the autogroup. I take it you have yet to test Mark's S/C Ford GT?

Thanks, no Mark and I haven't had time to test his new setup (vs my M3) my car is in the body shop for a few days for a big door ding. We'll do it soon.
