Trade in E63 for 09 C63?

Hi Guys.
I need some inputs.
I can trade in my E63(31,000 miles) for 09 C63($13,000 off MSRP)
If I keep the E, I need to get extended warranty sometime in 6 months.
Size of the car is not that big of deal.
Do you think that it is a good move?

Aside from the 13k off on the C, what kind of hit will you be taking on a trade-in? It'll probably negate any discount and then some.....

Keep the E. It is a more luxurious offering with a bigger and better presence IMO.

I have an older E55 and wouldn't consider the C63. Just not the same experience.

The E63 is a far nicer vehicle than a C63. the interior no comparison. The c63 interior is very disappointing at the price they are asking.

Hmmm, same engine, smaller car, equal if not better performance, less weight and perhaps increased gas mileage, size doesn't matter, more options (?), lose a lot of money on your E-trade, lose a lot of money on your C-drive off, buy extended warranty through Chrysler (good option and reasonable), it's a tough choice. IMHO, you are not stepping down if you buy a C63. I think they are very good, aggressive looking cars.

I know this may be a little sacreligious but if you have an itch for something new why not try a different brand/engine. An M5 or an RS6 for the V-10's - maybe the new Caddy if you want to stick with the V-8's; If you don't really care about size (or doors) the possibilities are endless. . . either way good luck with your choice.

Buy the Cadillac only if you want to be on a first name basis with your service writer, technician, shop foreman, service manager, and general manager of the Caddie store.

2015 AMG C63 S
This would be the worst trade in history. 13K off the C Class is nothing. Essentially there is already a rebate and no further discount to you?? Go out and look at how many c63s are on the market. Something is wrong with the car, everyone is getting rid of it.

A question, are you able to CPO your E class or is this some other type of warranty? One thing is for sure, if you trade the dealer will give you about $40-45 and CPO the car to sell it for $55-$60. What a rip off.

Also, your E Class is still under warranty why do anything now?

Keep it,

Very interesting point. It's hard to get a sense of anything on the C forum.

Re: C63

I'd keep your E63 and wait for 2nd year of W212 AMG and see what becomes available then. I agree that C63 is downmarket from E63, especially inside.
Getting a warranty will cost you much less.

For what it's worth, I contemplated getting a C63, but ended up getting my 09 Cadi for the same dough. The Cadi is more car in pretty much every way than the C63, although $13K off is a pretty good deal.

Lastly, I've had my Cadi since January, and have not had the need to introduce myself to the service dept for any warranty work at all. I'll get off my soap box.

2007 E63
After reading the posts and some thoughts, I decided pass on C63.
Although it is a nice car(C63), I think that it lacks in size and luxury of E63.

Thank you inputs.

Definitely not, C63 is a downgrade which you'll be paying more for.

Quality of materials, luxury, refinement, class, etc. it's no contest, favoring the E. The C is a disappointment in those areas to me. Looks-wise they both have their own characters, I prefer the E's take on styling as well.

Agreed- but I honestly like the looks of the c63 better, so much more aggressive imo.
