E63 performance upgrades

are there any good low cost or "most" bang for the buck upgrades to do for engine performance?

I have see the underdrive pulley set up and programming from Evosport for over 2k, (kinda pricey for the little power)

Are there air intakes or perhaps the K&N filter setup that make power? I know these alone wont make all the difference but if there are a few smaller things to do that can add up or free up some restricted power then I'd like to hear about them.

I understood the E63 didn't have my to tune it with versus the E55 but since you folks have been here longer than me I was hoping to hear about some of the fun upgrades you have done.

Try it! I think there were some dyno runs that confirmed a 18 HP gain.

Regards & enjoy the Great E63!

I'd like to hear about other solutions that cost a bit less than Evosports over 2k package.

Search for VR530 by VRP (which maybe listed under FD now).

I was looking at your signature, what does the P30 mean about your E63?

The P30 package (also known as 030 package or AMG performance package) is a factory option that comes with the following items:

- CLK Black Series (flat-bottom) steering wheel or Alacantra thickened E-Class style steering wheel.
- Top Speed limiter increased from 155 mph to 186 mph.
- Different rims (slightly wider in the back: 9.5 instead of 9 inches).
- Stiffer Sports Suspension (based on Airmatic DC).
- AMG Limited Slip Differential (40% locking ratio).
- $8,500 price tag

P30 is the P030 Performance package from the factory. Not a lot of P30 cars out there (it's an expensive AMG option.) I looked and couldn't find one when I was shopping. [edit: never mind, you already got your answer]

Like he said, check with Vadim (FD; Fedor Dezyn) He posts here and is a sponsor, too.

The big name ECU tunes plus bolt ons can give decent results but they are expensive. I don't think there's anyway around that.

If you bought the car brand new, you should've gotten the factory sticker which lists all options on the car. If not, you can take it to the dealership and they can print you out a detailed list for the car.

E63 AMG
In my experience nothing for our cars is cheap. I am actually done modding my ride and can tell you EVERYTHING , except maybe the K&N's is expensive.
GOod luck with you ride.
I love my 63, wouldnt change a thing at this point but getting to this point has been a hefty price....not even gonna try to count.

Slow
Be-careful with the K&N's I put them in mine without the charcoal filters and threw a CEL 1 day later for a lean engine, I put the OEM filters back in until I get my ECU tuned. I keep finding that mods are still relatively expensive for our cars since they are still rather new.

I too looked into modding my 63. After I found out what it cost and how little I would gain I decided to keep it stock. If I want to mod a car for speed I will just buy another car that makes a better platform for modding. I figure it would be like 8-12k$ to get like 70 or so HP out of this car. For that price on a vette you would get like 700+hp.
