Rear turbos Havoc?

Paging Havoc.... I think you mentioned several times in your engine build thread, that your blower is the limitor? With all the blood sweat and tears going into the motor; why have anything slow you down? Instead of doing all this custom blower work,, why not force feed the blower it with rear tubos?

We have considered installing rear mounted turbos before as it was in our original plans. However, we chose to hold off on that idea for now. Perhaps in the future we will look into it more once my car has some miles on it.
I think it's an interesting concept though.

I know AMGSC was also considering it, but I'm not sure if he'll actually do it.

For a domestic engine set-up,, this is a pretty impressive test on a new stock 5.4 litre GT 500 Mustang..

http://www.mustang50magazine.com/tec...500/index.html

You read this and in combination with our stock 55 internals; why would anyone do any other mod but just put twizies on???

No need for pulley, 4000K headers, 4000K cams and other expensive bolt ons.. Just boost up to 800RWHP and go big!!!

i have been wondering for awhile if that same system would work our cars. Actually I would love to bolt something like that on to my 202 for a little extra kick!

Thanks for sharing!

Personally, I like built motors because you can achieve more power with them as you add more mods and they sound more like Hot Rods which I like.

You should look into it and become the first 55 Kompressor Bi Turbo!

Well, with GTR`s running around like this, you going to need built, modded and a bunch of Twizies..

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/12/29/p...or-the-nissan/

And here is a car that is Twin-charged and will take the Buhgatti Veyron. Just scroll down to specs.

http://www.superchargerperformance.c...rged-hyper-car

First 55 with Twizies?? Quickest is what I like. Does not matter who puts what mod first, it is all that time slips for me.

Oh, I understand what you're saying, but my goal is not to be the fastest out there. My SL is not a 1/4 mile project car. My goal is to build my 55K to produce some big numbers that 55k's usually don't see. I have to be all about the dyno because as soon as I put my heavy a$$ SL on the 1/4 mile track, the 4.5K lbs of weight will absorb most of the extra power.
But hey, it's still an MB AMG, right!

If I wanted fast time slips I would have bought a moded ZO6 Corvette.

If all you wanted was dyno number you shoulda just written me a check and I'd make whatever numbers your heart desires.

Btw, that same modded Z06 Corvette that runs fast time slips will probably put down bigger numbers for less $$$ anyway. To each his/her own.

The problem with aftermarket turbos on benzes is t00ning and fueling. I've been wanting to do this for a longggg time. Once I get t00ning and fueling sorted its game on (also depends on if I have any money left after I buy a new house too lol). Baiscally I just need a full standalone

No, you still missunderstood what I meant.. I want ET in and AMG!!! A real heavy, phat luxurious one!! I like killing vetts, not moding them or even driving those cramped things around. Domestic cars are easy to mod and make go fast .. Heavy, sleeper AMG`s are far more exciting.

I have to say, I was suprised to hear Dyno was the goal for the SL project..

BlackBenz,,, I hear you on the t00ning.. That came to mind, when I wanted the Turbos to come in at 3800 rpm.. Still going to check into it.. Plenty of room for those Twizies inm place of our large AMG mufflers..

Please tell us that you are going to track race your car and not just going after how fast you can spin a metal roller? Maybe I am selfish ,but really want to see how these built motors run at the track. Big single turbo in the back of your car would be power all the time~ . Bottles run out, pressure changes , puddling, tuning issues. Then as the n20 addiction set in, things blow or melt.. It is manifest destiny with NOS.

Good point. Vadim was not thrilled about my idea of Nitrous. If Vadim and PC can custom tune for a twin-charge setup and the price is reasonable then I'll be the first to volunteer.

I have done a few of the STS turbo kits on LS trucks and Cars, works real well and horsepower would be relative to the size turbo you install,
Only thing i can see being a problem is hte charge air pipe runs from
the back of hte car to the front,Not mush room under these cars to add a 2" or bigger round pipe underneath them

Stupid fast! Check this video out ! Vette has some turbo lag but pipe that power into a supercharger and you get stupid quick-stupid fast!! http://revver.com/video/1445303/rear...tte-887155mph/

OJPAMG, Plenty of room for the rear turbos on vette`s . More room on our cars. I have seen this system on several c6 z06 427 cid and it fits real nice.
