E55 then E63, now back to an E55
Quick E63 Brake Pad Replacement Question
Needing to replace (at least) my front pads. Ideally, would like to purchase the Porterfield R4S pads -- would these be ok on front only ? i.e. Mismatched w Rear... Approximate cost & best vendor ?
Secondly, car has 45k miles.... I know you shouldn't "re-surface" cross drilled rotors (instead you replace them).... Is this necessary - they shouldn't be warped or have heat cycles ??
If I can & is safe to get by without purchasing, I would much rather, as I have a few other things that require my immediate monetary attention at this time.
Last & from the past, I replaced the Front Pads/Rotors on my previous E55 at around 55k miles, the dealership doing the work recommended both being new. Without seeing the car (no track or anything) did I most likely waste my money - or could it be a toss up ?
Thanks all !!

Most of what I have seen posted is to stay with stock pads.
If the rotors are true and above minimum thickness (supposedly printed on the rotor) then keep them. If not, there are likely other posts recommending after market replacement rotors cheaper than factory. There are also cheaper places to get factory rotors than the dealer.

Nobody has a clue ??
My car is at the dealership now & they called me with a $2,500 quote (Front Pads/Rotors/Sensors)
I've heard the E55 rotors will work (and are much cheaper) or should I just leave the rotors on there now ?
Thanks !!

wish I could help, I just haven't had this car long enough for a good answer.
I wouldn't spend that though. It'd be up on stands with me on the phone. 2500, what a waste of money.
